Video Games Live: Greatest Hits - Volume One

Find yourself a CD player, yet? An album of epic, gaming proportions is coming October 15 when EMI Classics releases Video Games Live: Greatest Hits -- Volume One. Although it's not a live recording (according to the press release, it was mixed and recorded at London's Abbey Road studios), the collection does feature music from Zelda, Mario, Halo, Warcraft, Sonic, Myst, Civilization IV, Final Fantasy ... and Tron.

This is one CD I think I'll have to buy. :)

No Grindspine... the Minibosses are great and all, they REALLY are, but this isn't the same thing. While the Minibosses just rock out to some great music (I've been to many concerts) things like Video Games Live and Play! are just HUGE orchstrated masses of awesome.

I very big must buy for me, Video Games Live is a masterpiece

Yes, Tommy Tallarico organized the whole thing. They toured all over the world and in addition to hosting some of the finest orchestras in the world they were also accompanied by a special fx/stunt show that operated in conjunction with the music. It included several large projectors as well as live stuntmen and some other stuff I can't really explain (very theatrical).

To pass up this cd would be a grave error in judgement.
