Virtual Console & WiiWare release master thread

Part 2 to the Virtual Console/WiiWare we have some more lovely goodies

Genesis VC:
Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Edition (It's basically SF2 Turbo from the SNES with very minor changes)

World of Goo (WiiWare)

World of Goo is an award-winning, physics-based puzzle/construction game made entirely by two guys. Grab living, squirming, talking globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins and giant tongues.

The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo are curious to explore - but they don’t know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious. World of Goo Corporation is contractually obligated to state that everyone is

Art Style: Cubello (WiiWare)

Art Style: Cubello mixes the strategy and feel of a traditional puzzle game with the precision and reflexes required in a shooter. As each stage begins, various colored cubes form into one large object called a Cubello, which floats and rotates as you play. Launch additional cubes from your magazine and try to connect four or more of the same color, removing them from the Cubello and eventually leaving only its core.

Take on the challenge of either Stage or Endless mode and watch what happens when Bonus Time is activated. The straightforward controls and goal ensure that anyone can play, while offering enough depth that even advanced players will find themselves quickly addicted to the unique world of Art Style: Cubello.

Ladies and gentlemen of EGA. I want to say, this is a day of remembrance. A day of which I will never forget. As I present this masterpiece of game classics, I just have to say, this game is what started me off on playing RPG's. I was primarily an Action/Adventure kid in my early years, I mowed lawns and did so many chores that summer to save up for it during 1993 to buy the first game I ever saved up for when I was 13 years old. This one Super Nintendo legend came out of the cold blue and showed me what the true meaning of what "SQUARESOFT" stood for....the sequels and prequels.....the remakes....side stories to the series....never could hold a light to this epic title...

woot! Mega Man 3! :D

Nov 17th 2008.

WiiWare:
Strong Bad Episode 4 - Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective (WiiWare)- 1000 points

Move over, generically buff action heroes. Strong Bad is here to show you how it's done in his hand-crafted cinematic masterpiece, Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. You play Dangeresque, a dirty cop in pursuit of a little action and several big sacks of cash. Can our hero stay alive long enough to defeat his arch-nemesis, save the world and get the girl? Looks like he's gonna have to jump.

Target Toss Pro: Bags (WiiWare) - 700 points

Target Toss Pro: Bags is a new video game based on beanbag toss, the nation's hottest backyard and tailgate sensation. Bags – or Cornhole, as it's called in some parts of the country – originated in the Midwest in the 1960s and has since become a staple at outdoor social events from coast to coast. Similar to horseshoes, Bags is a deceptively simple yet extremely competitive game where players try to toss beanbags into a hole in a slightly raised platform or "box" for points. Whether at a tailgate party or a summer barbecue, the game has become a social focal point, and the unmistakable thud of bags hitting the box is now a universal party soundtrack.

Virtual Console:

SNES: Space Invaders- 800 points

Space Invaders was a classic arcade game. You might think Space Invaders: The Original Game for SNES is a reimagining of sorts - Unfortunately, it isn't at all! The game is basically a collection of different versions of the original Space Invaders. Don't be fooled into thinking it's a new game, it really isn't! We recommend waiting for the quite entertaining Space Invaders Get Even on WiiWare instead or just picking up Space Invaders Extreme on the PSP/DS.

Genesis: Forgotten Worlds- 800 points

Forgotten Worlds is the Genesis port of Capcom's arcade shooter. You control a flying warrior in a robotic suit who, as is usually the case in shooters, has to take down an evil overlord and his underlings. A unique aspect of the game is that there is a little sphere floating around you which can also shoot - You can control this sphere at all times. This game also introduces the fictional currency Capcom now uses in most of their games, the Zenny!

OMG! I love that game! ^_^ As soon as my internet is back I'll definitely be getting that.

Just one VC Game today:

Genesis: Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure!- 800 points

is a rather average game in terms of gameplay - Just run and jump your way through the stages. What really sets it apart from other platformers however is the theme - Your character, Boogerman, is pretty much the filthiest hero ever, as his arsenal includes farts and belches! Of course your enemies aren't exactly the cleanest bunch either - To beat them you'll have to traverse areas such as the Flatulent Swamps and the Pus Palace, go through sewers by actually going down toilets, and more. This unique theme actually makes the game quite enjoyable, although it's not in the same league as Earthworm Jim.

WiiWare recieves two games:

Boingz (RealArcade, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 1,000 Wii Points): Stretch, flex and flick your way to freedom. A truly mind-bending experience, Boingz introduces you to cute, colorful, stretchable friends lost in an alien world, searching for the magical gates that will take them home. Boingz springs to life with 30 levels of puzzle-platforming fun. The Boingz are bendy little critters that can be pulled, stretched and flicked from place to place like rubber bands. It's a team effort, as all the Boingz will have to work together to unwind the game's puzzles. What's more, many of the Boingz have fallen into a deep slumber, and you'll have to lead the stronger Boingz to find and wake up their sleepy friends. Explore surreal landscapes, sail through the air like a trapeze artist, walk along the seafloor, and collect the Twinklies to power up your elastic-powered flights.

Sudoku Challenge! (Digital Leisure Inc., 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Now's your chance to play the brain-busting puzzle game taking the world by storm. With over 100 million Sudoku puzzles, you'll never see the same puzzle twice in Sudoku Challenge! You can select the classic nine-by-nine Sudoku game boards as well as Grand Sudoku, which challenges you to complete five intersecting Sudoku boards simultaneously. Just a beginner? Don't worry-with three difficulty options, even a novice player can complete a Sudoku with ease. But if you're a seasoned pro, challenge yourself in Expert mode and test your true skills. It's time to get your thinking cap on and see how many Sudoku puzzles you can conquer.

I remember this game! :lol

Just one VC Game today (Man what happened to 3 a week? :():

Neo Geo: METAL SLUG 2- 900 points

Metal Slug 2 is quite obviously the second game in the Metal Slug series. It improves on everything from the first game - More characters, more weapons, more enemies, more vehicles, better graphics... It's every bit as addictive as the original game, but this is a bit of a pointless release. It suffers from slowdown in many areas, which caused SNK to release a "remake" called Metal Slug X - Aside from mixing things such as enemy locations up a little, it fixes all slowdown and is overall a slightly better game than 2. It might be a better idea to wait and see if X will be released on VC.

WiiWare recieves:

SPACE INVADERS Get Even - 500 points

The Space Invaders are back, and this time they're out to get even!

Take control of a UFO and make those Earthlings pay by unleashing your fleet of heroic invaders against their puny tanks, fighter jets and artillery.

Use your invaders' five attack types and the might of the mother ship to rack up high scores, then upload them via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and see where you stand in the worldwide rankings!

Pit Crew Panic! - 800 Wii Points

In Pit Crew Panic!, an all-female pit crew fixes cars, trains, bridges and, of course, toilets.

Just one VC Game again....*sigh* week of Dec 7th.

Sega Master System: SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 - 500 points

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Master System is not at all like the Genesis version. Yes, it's a platformer as well, but the levels, bosses and almost everything else is completely different. This game also introduces vehicles, such as hanggliders and minecarts. Like the first Sonic on the Master System, it's a good game, but nowhere near as good as its console counterpart.

Mega's 2 Cents: It is actually a direct port of the Sega GameGear Sonic 2. Plus, this game was never actually released in the USA on the Sega Master System, Only Australia, Brazil, and Europe received this game.
