I have had this problem for ages now. When i try and open a program that's 3D i get the message "Vpu recover has reset your graphics card accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands". Its really doing my head in. For now i have just uninstalled my graphics card drivers so my computer stops crashing. I have tried emailing Asus about it but still no reply and looked on other forums. Someone said i should flash my BIOS but i heard it can cause big problems if you do it wrong. I have tried to uninstall and re install my motherboard and graphics card drivers but still doesn't work and also tried updating my graphics card drivers. Please can someone help??? :'(

Graphics Card: Asus EAX600
Motherboard: Winfast NF4UK8AA

Does the card have a fan on it? It could be overheating and that could be causing it to reset, or any fan for that matter. You might want to check and see if there's a lot of dust on it and try to clean it off.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah it has a fan and have cleared the dust carefully off it. The fan is working as well. I feel like throwing my computer out of the window. I think i might have to give up and save up for a new card. If anyone has anyother ideas or actually no how to fix it PLEASE let me no.

on top of that.. blow out your whole computer... and make sure there is a decent amount of fans... or cooling devices.

Stupid question... is it an on board graphics card? I use ASUS mother boards... they are awesome. Never used an Asus graphics card.

I take it you built the computer?

Just curious, have you updated to the latest graphics cards. From what I'm reading that ASUS card you have is using an ATI chpset, and I've been reading that they have some problems with communicating with the VPU causing it to think it is overheating. That's most likely what the problem is around though so I don't think a BIOS flash would really help.

*edit* You might want to check and make sure it's getting enough power.

To the first question, i have 3 fans that all work and have cleard out the dust everywhere. Its was aswome when it was working. Secondly I have downloaded all the new drivers from the site, is that what you mean? Still nothing.

Yeah, that's what I meant. How about trying the card in another PC to see if you get the same results? Has this been happening since you bought the card or was it just something recent? It could just be a bad one.

Its kind of recent. It worked fine for months then one day it just went. Tried all the new drivers. This is a weird one its like nobody knows whats causing it, not even ATI. Thanks for all your ideas.

how about this... is it still under warranty?

have you been able to try a different card?

No not yet. Wont be able to exchange it or anything either. Think i'll have to wait until i can buy a new one. It wouldnt b anything to do with ram would it?

What applications specifically, TC? I've seen issues with ATI cards causing "VPU Recover" resets while playing certain Source games -- if this is the issue, there is a workaround.

Or is it absolutely anything that has to do with 3D?
