Ok sorry. I also think Mario is overused but not sure its overrated.
What are the biggest overrated and underrated series/games in your opinion?

Overrated: Um for me it's between Halo and GTA
Underrated: Would most definitely be Kid Icarus from the NES

I liked it but it's definitely a love it or hate it type RPG game. Kinda quirky and hard to describe. Didn't sell well in the states, which is why no US release of the sequel, but it's become a huge cult classic. EarthBound is actually the second in the series of "Mother" games and was extensively re-written for the US release. Mother 1 was for the NES and Mother 3 for the GBA, Japan only. There was also a Japanese release of 1 & 2 for GBA.

Doesn't it have 2 sequels? The game is also known as "Mother".
It was the second game in a series. The first one was released only in Japan, and a sequel was released only in Japan.Retro Hero said:

Well that sorta sucks to only release that one in the US. It's too late for the 1st but the sequel has a little bit of time left to make it here......
