What has Nintendo done to my beloved Paper Mario?

Paper Mario was one of the greatest Gamecube game I've ever played and Paper Mario was my favorite N64 RPG and I have been looking at Super Paper Mario and I just can't stand to see what they are doing to the next entry in the series. What the hell, your partners are "pixels"? What the hell are those? Instead of getting an RPG, we're getting another Mario Platformer, like that hasn't been done a thousand times over. So, I have just one question, WHAT WAS NINTENDO THINKING????? :hh :hh :hh :hh
 
Dude, this is awesome. Mario was meant to be platformer. Look at it from a positive side, it's going to have some cool features and such. Can't wait till Monday, got mine on pre-order.

I was just hoping for an RPG instead of the millionth Mario platformer. I'm not even sure if I'm ever gonna get the new paper mario.
 
I hope theydidnt mess with this toomuch because the Thousand Year Door was my favorite game for the Cube... if they change it i hope its for the better

Man, Super Paper Mario looks awesome! Have you seen any gameplay videos of it? I watched some today and I can't wait to play it.
 
the thing I liked about paper mario is that it's combined platrformer/rpg elements made it a genuinely unique gaming experience

Yeah and now they are gonna make it a platformer where you level up and have items. THEY SUCKED OUT ALL THE RPG!!!!

I can appreciate this... it gave a unique twist on Mario.

although I think it will be good no matter what... I am not 100% sure if it's good for them to stray from their original PAper Mario Roots.

But then again... they could rebirth the old Super Mario RPG series :)
