What is the difference on these X-files DVDs?

I saw this at Best Buy for $40...... Its volume 3, 16 episodes:

Now.... Is that season 3.... or what is it? $40 makes me very skeptical because normallly they are $80-100.

It seems like a mini-plot within the whole season or seasons that have to do with a specific topic.
Let's say within season three, episodes 1, 7, 10 and 15 all have the same plot. And putting them together basically builds the story. The regular series DVD will have those in it, but this "special edition" takes out the irrelevant episodes.
CSI does the same thing. And the only way now to get the whole picture is to watch every episode in hopes to see one that fits into the puzzle. That is untill the makers of CSI release them in a DVD set specifically for one plot.
 
cool... there was no listing on the colonization set (online) so I couldn't tell.  But that is 16 episodes for $40... not bad....

anyone else still like the x-files?

it sucks that the show went off air.... Although the last season blew a bit... at least they went out right.... the last episode wasn't too bad ... uncovering the truth and what not.

But still... The X-files has to be one of the best shows ever made imo.
