I have Verizon DSL, after switching to it from Comcast cable.

Comcast is slightly faster, but we had so many problems with it we got rid of it. Also, I'd like to point out that there is no noticable difference between the 2, which are the dominant broadband providers in the area.

Quest MSN DSL.

@ Spartan, my brother has cable, and it seems that the only area you can tell the difference is download speeds on video clips. So yeah, on everything else, I can't tell the difference either.

But there is a HUGE difference between DSL and dial-up. Dial-up is horrible!!

Cable all the way... You should of added OC-3072!! ROFL ::D

(If you dont know what OC-3072 is, its a 16GBps or 19GBps (cant remember) connection speed for top of the line companies, EXTREMELY fast)

i got Bellsouth DSL,MAN THOSE COMMERCIALS ARE ANOYING!

I HATE PAT! >:( ,............... :lol ,.............................oooooooooooh,i got an idea for a topic.

cable... I get 700-786 kb/s downloads... yes.. it is fast. IT seems like 1 meg a second on downloads.... it is not that fast, but it seems like it.

I've received 4 meg files around 5 seconds. I had a sql program to download ... over 250 megs from Microsoft... it took 10 some min at around 500 kb/s I believe.

Anyway, I see no need for a T1 when Cable is giving these speeds.... I don't know what I would do without cable.... it is sad, but really.... everything I do with this site and all... I cannot imagine business / life without cable or AT LEAST broadband of some sort.

Bv :hat

I chose other. Technically I have cable, but it's split like fifty bajillion ways (into my computer + 2 Tv's + a wireless router which connects to 2 other computers) so needless to say, I can't play Counterstrike. I mean, it was fun at first when I expected to get killed every round, but after I got better it just wasn't fun to have the enemy lag-warp every time I shot my gun.

I found out today that a buddy of mine from work can't get DSL in his neighborhood. Is there some extra special reason?? The neighborhood I live in is older than his and I have DSL. Now, I can't get cable, and I refuse to get dial-up again. It just doesn't make any sense to me. I think the phone company has a sales rep that's getting lazy...

Because his neighborhood probably isnt wired up for DSL. He should check the website and see if his area is actually wired up for DSL.
