What PC Game should I get?

... and I have a job this week to! Thank God for lonely guys. :lol

Anyway, I tried that Batman: Begins the other day. It's by far the best Batman game out there, and even without the bat it would be quite good.

you guys should try rise of nations.

the ending era.... is like the current military, etc.... its like C&C.... you must explore, gain resource (and special resources), build more bases..etc
BUT the difference is that you must go up through the ages..there are MANY things to research to update technologies... gain more money..etc.

Its a fun game!

I tried that, but I MUCH prefer Empire Earth II. It's not all that different from Rise of Nations, but the graphics are tons better.

* Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines. (vamps, uses an early Half-Life 2 engine. It's excellent.)
I believe Bloodlines runs off the Doom 3 engine, not Source.

Nope, it's a very early Half-Life 2 engine, complete with those wonderful facial expressions. To bad Doom3 is far better than Half-Life 2 as a game.

Hmm... you're right.  My fault. It is on the Source engine.

I do have to disagree with you on the Doom 3 > Half-Life 2 part.  Doom 3, in my opinion, wasn't that good of a game.  The only thing it really had going for it was shadows... shadows that were hard to see considering you're in total darkness for almost the entire time.  The other graphical elements weren't all that detailed, I felt human character models could use work, and I felt the gameplay was repetitive as well--walk into room, lights go out, monsters appear, kill monsters, go into next room, rinse, repeat.

That's just my view.

And half-life2 isn't like that?   :D :? No, seriosly, I'm not saying Half-Life 2 is a bad game. It's brilliant. The problem is it's not a Half-Life game to me. The first one have you as a scientist working on a new projects. Things go a bit bad to say the least, and suddenly you're all alone, trapped inside the facility, not knowing what's going on. Then human soldiers start chasing you, and you really don't know what's going on.

In HL2, you already know what's going on, you have partner, and it takes place outside. Even better, you're trained to deal with those monsters, and not a scientist. It's not a bad game, but compare it to the Alien saga. The first one has the crew fighting an unknown enemy. The problem is we learned quite a bit about that alien in the end, so how to make a sequel? Simple. We allready know who the enemies are, so have hundreds of them against trained marines. It's an excellent movie, but nowhere near the first one in style. It's two completely different movies that just happens to have the same monsters. Just like HL1 and HL2. Two excellent games that don't have anything in common except the main character and monsters.

Doom3 on the other hand is basically the first Doom updated to modern systems. Just like the first game, you're on Mars, an experiment goes wrong and you're surrounded by hellspawn. Sure it's not as technically advanced as HL2, but gameplay wise it's Doom1 all over again, only a lot better. And as for Doom3 being to dark, that is part of the fun. Still, if it is too dark for you, you can download a mod that adds a flashlight to all your weapons. I've tried it, and it worked wonders.

I haven't had the chance to try Doom3: Resurrection of Evil yet, but it's quite high on my wishlist. Or should I go for the Half-Life 2 expansion? Ah, screw it. I'll get both. ;)

Yeah, that's right. It's not out yet, but it's confirmed to be in development. But with Half-Life 1 having two and Half-Life 2 rated Game of the Year by a lot of fans before it's even released, it's kinda obvious we will have an expansion or two. ;)

Ok guys I have been playing a lot of my pc games lately. Here are the games I have.

Unreal Tournament 2004
Warcraft 3 ROC and TFT
Diablo
Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 LOD
LOTR Battle for Middle Earth
Guild Wars
Morrowind
Baldurs Gate

now I have beaten Diablo and gotten really far in Diablo 2. I love Warcraft 3 but I am horrible at it for multi. :'( Unreal Tournament I love to play online with friends. Also GW is a lot of fun.

Now I want to know what I should get for my next game. Here is a list of canidates. :lol

-Starcraft Battlechest
-Half Life Platinum Package
- Call of Duty Package
- Rise of Nations Gold

I would appreciate for your opinion and suggestions for any other games.

trkorecky: The expansion for Half-Life 2 is called Aftermath, but I guess you already know by now. It should be out before Christmas.

AresGodOfWar023: You might want to try WarHammer 40k: Dawn of War. (just wait a few weeks to get the Gold version with the expansion Winter Assault as well). Short to say, I think it's the only good real-time strategy game to be released since StarCraft, and I tried WarCraft III. (and the expansion). It's simply brilliant. I can try to tell you great it is, but words can't express my feelings for it. It's just unbelievable good. And I'm not even into all that WarHammer thing. ;)
