What would you think about a Freebie forum?

I won't allow other people to sell here due to scamming problems..etc.... I just don't want the responsibility of that crap on my site.

BUT... what would you all think about a freebie forum to GIVE unwanted things away?
The only charging that would be allowed would be shipping.... and people would have to understand if they got burnt on that.... they are just out.

BUT It would be encouraged just to ship things off for free.

What do you all think ? :)

Sounds ok to me...the only problem I see is that I don't think it'd get much usage. The only time I can recall somebody wanting to give something away here was awhile back when somebody had some leftover give aways.

I think the game for game trade is a good idea. I know most of the time that when someone is giving something away for free there's something wrong it, or its just a P.O.S (piece of sh.., yea you know).

Well but I bet the board would gain alot more members if this happens?

thats a negative.

Only free things.... IE giving away.

In trades, you could still be scammed..... and thats what I am avoiding on this site.

IT was just an idea :) if you all don't think its a good idea... then we don't have to do it. Its all up to you :)

Well, I'd be giving a game away to someone, and someone would be giving a game away to me, :lol.

As long as you had some kind of disclaimer or something on the board saying that you take no responsibility for deals that don't involve you, then I would like to see that. If I got ripped off by some guy who never gave anything back, then I'd just have to suck it up. But most of the members here have been here for awhile, and most seem pretty trustworthy. Maybe if you had a minimum amount of posts before you could trade, to ensure they're not just here to scam people or something.
 
yeah thats an ok idea. I guess you obviously wont trade to someone who is making there first post and you never talked to before.
 
I'm always getting freebies from work, sometimes things I don't even want. I wouldn't mind being able to give them to someone who actually wants them. I think stealth toilet has a good idea with there being a minimum amount of posts required before they could give away freebies.

The best way to be sure you're not scammed is like have a reference or something and give out your e-bay id and contact information. And other posters can look out for people on the boards trying to scam others. Just an idea :) I'd like some trading going on.
 
I'd say even more than 50, at least 100 or something. It could be a "privelege" given to those who actually post frequently. And it should also be understood that you are giving something away for free, and its up to the other person to decide whether or not they want to honor that. I'm pretty sure most people would anyway...

I got a huge stack of games I want to trade in to an EBgames or something, but if I could just swap them with other people on the board here, that would be great.
 
I agree. I would trade freely with other people also. I think it should be a privelege also. Not just anyone should be able to take part in it. I dont know how you are going to regulate it though.
 
Most of my free stuff is just demos and trinkets.

I still have to send Link a Pac-Man Vs. disc. And stealth wanted one but he never PMed me his address. :p

I could pick up a few Shadow of Rome (PS2) demos if anyone is interested. We have craploads left over at GameStop.

again... there won't be any trading.

this will be a 1 sided transaction.
IE I have something for free who wants it.
