I prefer the neo cd pro joystick. Its easier to use than the cd pad especially when used with some fighting games that require 3 buttons pressed at the same time, my thumb wont do it on the pad yet i got all my fingers in use with the joystick, and its less bulky than the original joystick but just as sturdy.

Pro joystick. Less bulky than the original and just as responsive. I agree with Yorkie that its sometimes hard to pull of complicated special moves that require 3 buttons or so to be pressed with the CD pad.

I prefer an old style stick, but it never seemed to work well with the CD system and visa versa with the control pad.

If you put a control pad on the AES, it seems sluggish. If you put an old style stick on the CD system, it seems sluggish.

If you use the right one with the right one, it seems fine.

I have no idea why.

I personally use an adaptor and use my PS2 controller for my Neo CD. I've got the Neo CD pad as well, which I like, but the adaptor was a cheaper alternative for me than buying a second regular controller

I'd like to revote! lol

At the time when this thread started it had been a loooong time since I used an old style stick. As I have been using one for a few months now I prefer it greatly over the new style stick.

My reasons? The new style sticks joystick is too short, the buttons are too cramped, and its not heavy enough...I play with my joystick sitting on a table, and the old style never slides around...but the new style one does.

Definitely the Oldstyle Stick. Stick, ball and buttons are superb, enough plce to comfortly put your hands on the board. Works great with Neo CD, not sluggish at all.

Never tried the new style stick though.

As a pad the neo PAd is nice due to the microswitches, but I wouln´t compare it to the stick.

maybe I am wrong here.... but isn't the New style stick heavier than the sold? The old style seems more hollow to me (I own 2 from my gold aes system).

I have tested the new style stick many times as well.

Granted... the new style stick is smaller... but I thought it just felt heavier and thicker.

actually.. the Neo CD pad is GREAT for games like Windjammers.... and other games that only take a few buttons.

Old stylle seems heavier to me...maybe its the size making me think its heavier? Either way the new style stick "slides" with me when I play it sitting on the table..the old style doesn't.

New stick for me. Pro.

Nice shape, steady when placed on a hard surface, sweet click.... I just like it better.

I just bought this really nice arcade stick for PS2 and XBox (it's the Street Fighter Anniversary stick) it works really nice on my NGCD with the adapter I have, it would be even better if I could set it to use the four buttons across instead of a 2X2 area. It also would be nice to use it with my Dreamcast, but I'm too cheap to buy that adaptor :)

I love the old style stick... but I'll state again..... nothing beats the CD pad with winjammers.

no kidding... its just excellent for that game.

Unfortunately I have yet to purchase that game. It looks cool, so I will at some point, and I will try playing it with my Neo pad :)

The Old Style Stick is great, but I love the Pad too. I never had the chance to try the Pro Stick, which definetly looks good! :?

Anyway, tha Pad is way too fragile.......

And now I'm so afraid to break up the Sticks'n'Pads that I play with a PS pad trough an adapter....... :lol
