which next gen console will u buy??

i will probably wait for the ps3... but knowing me i will have to fight to keep the money in my pocket to keep from getting an xbox2.

Xbox 2 is definatly the way to go for me, I'm not too fond of what the PS2 is offering, so I can't see the PS3 being much different. Xbox however, has more than satisfied my gaming needs.

Im probably going to get all three, but the one that I want is the PS3. I read in Game Informer for April that the next x-box isnt going to have a hard drive in it to cut cost. Also the PS3 is going to use Blu-ray disc. Those can hold about 50 gigs of data. opposed to the next x-box which will probably still use regular dvd drives. Oh and the Nintendo Revolution is rumored to have touch screen controllers. No d-pads, joysticks or buttons. Just a touch screen. I dont know how that is going to work out. Especially since it seems that Nintendo is "Forcing" game developers to utilize it or else they cant develop for the Revolution at all.

he already answered that, it's a new type of data storage disk that can hold way more.

god I hate how Nintendo is all gimicky now, first it was the GBA to GC conectivity, now its the touch screen, what next, voice controlled games :lol how bout doing things the normal way. As for what I'll buy, probably nothing this year, I'm stripped on cash so I will probably end up getting a PSP for XMAS and waiting another year for the next gens- I will buy the Nintendo system olny if they have normal games, if not the a PS3

I dont think they are trying to be gimmicky, I think they are genuinely trying to be different and take risks. But at this point I dont think its going to work because they dont have the large fanbase like they use to have which would have given them the luxury to take those risks.

well whatever they are doing its anoying, I used to love the DS touchscreen games but now I realize they are pretty much all the same, I really want a DS game that controls with the D-pad, Zelda anyone!

I would love a Zelda game. I'm waiting for them to fully utilze this touch screen thing or else i'll just sell my DS and get a cheaper Gameboy SP.

:lol Funny you should say that, cuz I played Mario Party 6 the other day and the "big" reason to buy that game instead of the previous 5 was the addition of a microphone. I'm kind of undecided on which console to get. I'm definitely not getting one at launch. I want to wait and see things pan out a bit before I buy one, maybe even wait for the first price drop. If the Revolution really is a revolution, I might get that, but as it stands now its a toss up between the PS3 and the Xbox 2/ Nextbox/ Xbox 360.

well nintendo has some interesting stuff.. like being able to play onling by wi-fi... it says that all consoles will have a built in router.. read it on gamespot.. as i am a loyal member there too. i am for sure getting a ps3 just because it is way better than anything else.. blu ray.. come on n ow.. imagen the length and vastness of the games ... im just going to wait for the price to drop a bit... and the developers really dont get the full power of the console the first time round.

Is disc space really that important though? I mean, no one complained when RE4 was on two discs instead of one, or when FF games on the PS1 took up multiple discs. In fact, I'd almost prefer the discs they've used in the past, if for no other reason than the knowledge of how reliable they are. I remember hearing that the GC discs could hold about 90 Mario 64 games on it, but I never saw any massive 1 disc collection games, and I never once thought "this game is 90 times as big as Mario 64." Disc space, at this point, is practically a moot point.

but come on.. look how many games the playstation series has... there are thousands of games... and xbox.. well im wondering if there even going to have playback format for the xbox 1

One of the advantages to Blu-ray discs is that they are cheaper to manufacture and are actually less likely to get scratched. True, storage isnt really that big of an issue cuz developers can just use multiple discs but using these discs might also give games faster load times because the data transfer rate is a lot more than traditional DVD's and it also helps developers make games for HD ready televisions because of the extra storage the disc provides. Here is the link again if anybody wants to read up on blu-ray discs.
