I have, and Tails at least has more difference to Sonic than Knuckles. Honestly, Sonic does a winding punch in Brawl already, and I still haven't seen your great idea for what Knuckles can do to be different.
 
Sonic has 1 punch, correct? Knuckles is based off punches. This is like saying Ike shouldn't be in because Marth is already in, even though they're way too much more alike than Sonic and Knuckles. Honestly, if you've played the games, you'd know Knuckles and Sonic are nowhere near alike.
 
knuckles could fight like Balrog fought in SF, just super powerful punches, could glide also, and cling to walls.

tails could be harder to hit, and use techno weaponry.

and where's my sandwich?

So, what would Knuckles do? You can't have an entire move set off a punch. Punches don't have enough variety.

You missed my points completely. But, for the sake of your question, I'll answer. You can have entire move sets off of punches. I'm once again doubting you've ever played a Sonic game. Knuckles has his regular punch, fire punch, uppercut punch, dig punch. Final Smash could be the use of Master Emerald.

Wow, that was easier than I thought.

Ok, so, from what I see stuff working as, you got his neutral standard, his side standard, his up special, and either his down special or down standard, along with Final Smash. You still need all his aerials, either his down standard or down special, his side special, his running special, and I think that's all move wise.
