Who else can't wait for Crackdown?

You have to be level 2 to make progress. Level 3 can make it to the highest of the three spires, but you have to be maxed to reach the pinnacle.

I'm downloading the demo right now.

I'm one of the few people who was interested in Crackdown long before the Halo 3 beta was announced. I've actually been looking forward to Crackdown since it was a cover story in Game Informer a long time ago (I think it might have even been before the 360 came out! :o )

There are several things about Crackdown that got my attention:
1) Sandbox type game
2) You get to be the good guy instead of the criminal!
3) Cel-shading style is really cool! Reminds me of a comic book!
4) The rpg elements; ie if you decide to specialize in cars, you get cooler, bigger cars as you play. And if you specialize in athletics, your body gets all muscled and reflects that.

I would have gotten Crackdown anyway; the Halo 3 beta is just a good reason to get it at launch. ^_~

Gravity and physics are definitely in the game. You are a superhero cop. Watching Spiderman jump an astounding 3 feet off the ground sucks, as would watching your guy jump 3 feet off the ground. Superheros should be able to jump high.

I have to disagree. There are always those one or two games that standout in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Yeah, right. Name any game and I can make it sound stupid and generic.

In any event, Crackdown, in my opinion, stands out as a really fun game with a unique approach to the sandbox genre that comes with a unique graphical style that to my knowledge has never been done before.

You can make it sound like it's generic and stupid, but when someone looks upon it in their own eyes will it still look stupid and generic? That's my point and I believe that's what Hines was alluding to. I can make it sound stupid and generic too.

Gears of War
Rainbow Six: Vegas

Are just a couple off the top of my head that standout from a lot of the next-gen games. And yes I understand that they are not original as far as gameplay goes, but they are fun to play.

i mean crackdown looks pretty cool, i wasnt dissing it, but its been done before. i looked at it on youtube and from what i can see, it looks like a crossover between SWAT and GTA
