Hi Esteemed Members.

I just back from our local "EB Games" store after buying "The Godfather" for the PS3.I frequent this store a great deal and the was fairly busy.Waiting in line to pay,I was looking around and noticed that there were far more teens and adults,as opposed to younger children. It could have been like this just on this particular day,so perhaps it may different next time I go in..but when I thought about it,maybe not.

I understand there is a lot of facts to consider. My first guess is that children from ages maybe 6 to 13 play more than higher aged people simply because they're unemployed, leading me to believe they have more downtime the the the older gamers but when you think about it,most of the kids of the lowest age group are in school from 7:00 A.M. to roughly 3:30 P.M. By the time they get home, change out of their school clothes, have dinner take a bath,it's almost time for bed.So with this in mind maybe these young ones don't get too much time to game.(Depending on the parent's rules).

Teen agers in most cases don't listen to their folks rules anyway so I imagine they are able to play more at a friends house at nights,or cuffing class during the day to game anywhere.

As far as adults who have children,if they're responsible parents are working all the time support they're family, thus giving them a lot less downtime to game.If I had to choose,I would say that teens probably game more than anyone.

How about you?

God bless,

My silly gamespot near my apartment wont even have the consoles on during the school time hours, however the one located about 0.2 miles away has it on all the time (the one closer to my classes)

I think the people from 6-17 play games the most.

Now that I am working, I have the money to buy the games I want, but not the time. But, I don't think kids really do, either. They have school, homework, and various after school activities. In the summer they probably have a lot of time, though.

pfft, who did homework and school activities in public school?

Um, I did. I got high grades, went to tech school AND regular school, and had activities almost every weeknight. Weekends I did community marching band as well. :-\

I think around 16 is about right. I never had any school activities to attend to, plus I had a job so i had something to fund my addiction. Until I was about 22 I think I gamed hardcore. I even was a store manager for a game store that had no traffic, so all I did was play through the store's inventory. NOw that I got this whole family thing and a non gamer job, I don't get much time to hit the controller like I used to.

See, based from the microcosm of responses to my ridiculous and insane statement, it appears that the people who were 6-17 years old at the time played games intensely, so much that they worked it into their busy schedules of school activities and homework and multiple community affairs; time in which they could have spent resting and sleeping.

Hmmm.... I think the ones, presently, would be those elderly in the assisted living and nursing homes that have Wii. They would most likely have the most time to game.

I think that best represents my thoughts on the issue. Teenagers and adults have the money and ability to buy more games than kids, but I'd be willing to bet they spend way less time playing them than younger kids. While teenagers and adults can be viewed purchasing games at an EBgames, younger kids are most likely sitting at home playing them.

I know for myself gaming has become less and less frequent. I literally have to set aside time and plan to play a video game if its for more than an hour at a time. Whenever I hang out with friends we usually play video games, and that is the scenario where most of my game playing is done, but even then get together aren't usually centered around playing video games, so those times only half count really.

At 15, going to school and working means you hardly ever get to play games, especially if you're involved in any sort of sports or clubs or have any other projects or hobbies on the go. So really, for me anyway, the prime time to play videogames was probably age 7-14, when I had the most free time. Now my free time is mostly used to talking or writing/reading about video games, ironically, than it is playing them. Its an expensive and time consuming hobby, so growing older and having to prioritize both my time and money has left me, and I think many others, with less time to play games.

Yeah I was pretty active as a student as well in High School

I was Vice-President of the Sopohmore class

I took Judo for 2 years.

I was on the wrestling team for a year.

I was in JROTC for 2 years and ended up with Captain rank (3 Silver Disc on the left lapel)

I ran for President of the Student Body. I lost by 2 votes, but gave one heck of a speech in from of over 300 students.

Went to a community college and studied English as my major, went to a Tech school and became a repair man.

Yet back on topic, I would say teenagers get the most gaming time these days. I know I did lol

In highschool I stopped playing games altogether. I was going to school and working two jobs. Monday through Friday I went to school at 6:30. Got off at 1:00 and went to work at 1:30. At 5:30 I'd get off the first job and head to the second at 6:00-6:30. I'd be there untill 11:00 at night. Saturdays I worked 7:30 to 5:00 at my first job and headed to the second one. Sundays I worked a few hours at one job. It was amazing that I had time for homework.

I started playing again after I graduated. I was given a PSX and some games. Then I was given an NES, and a Saturn. It mushroomed from there.

As far as time, I am like Stealth in that I have to make time for gaming. My son usually plays the most in my house. I have been playing handhelds a lot lately though.

In highschool I played game when i was at school, when i came home from school. I also woke up at about 1AM and played games until about 5AM. Then school at like 7AM. I beat so many games that way, especially 11th and 12th grade.
