Okay I will just end this now if you want. I am commanded by I don't even know who to listen to Hannah Montana. So I am listening to her right now, oh yeah every minute of my life from now on because it's what every tween is doing. I love her truthful lyrics such as "They can't, We can, Parents might not understand, Having fun without a plan" and "If we were a movie, You'd be the right guy, And I'd be the best friend, You'd fall in love with, In the end we'd be laughing, Watching the sunset, Fade to black, Show the names, Play that happy song". Now I can finally fit in with everyone and not be a loser who does what I want. Thanks for showing me the way or I mean commanding me to conform.

Impossible, we Hannah Montana fans are not that fickle, quickly shifting our allegiances to other groups based on the popularity.

There is proof to say that half of those bands listed are only popular now because other groups continue to do covers, and remakes, and rearrangements of the previous songs by said groups. I will admit that the BEatles have a certain popularity and that we are commanded to listen to them, but I find it a chore to listen to any of their songs that havent been remade or redone by someone else, they were great songwriters but vocal wise, it is a chore to listen, though I listen so I can at least take part in discussion with fans.

But all of that is beyond the point, fanbase is the number one indicator of popularity, thus fan base is important for the vitality of the artist. (profound and prolific statement)

And NickthePunk, I find it difficult to listen to you if you are going to mock the songs of Hannah Montana, one shouldnt launch into personal attacks nor sarcastic mocking montages of dissidence.

I wouldn't to do any of this if would just understand that people have their own opinions. I don't have to do anything if I don't want to no matter how many people were doing it. I know this is going to sound crazy but if people started killing babies and old people and it was legal but everyone was doing it would you do it?

What that is an unfair card to play? This shouldnt be a great philosophical debate.

People can not possibly have their own opinions, they must do what someone else is, if you are a fan of killing people, then you will find people of like mind, if you are a fan of healing people then you will find people of like mind. If you are a person who would commit such a diabolical crime, then you would clearly find other people who like doing it. But if people were killing babies and old people (why do we need the legal part?) and if it were legal, then I wouldnt do it, even if everyone were doing it for there is nothing that commands me to do it.

No credentials, No truths, no pleasantness, only apparently a population of evil doers.

I doubt anyone has 'commanded' you of such, but I can justify that she is, in my opinion, another popstar who will eventually die off like many other before hand. There arn't many that have managed to hold a grand title that people achknoledge throughout the "test of time" as you have been putting it. Fewer of those being pop stars. The majority of music that does last is Rock, Country, Classical, Blues, Metal and some Folk and Jazz. Go look around some stasticas on the net, and prove me wrong if you wish, but those are the genre's that have stood by. Pop, RnB and especially Techno tends to last it's set time before expiring, typically because new sound is produced that casts aside the previous, in other substantial cases, the producers 'cast aside' their previous, once young and 'popular' artists, like Hannah Montana, for another.
If there is really a 'test of time' here then it will be when Hannah is required to make the ultimate life goal and evolve with the times in order to stay famous as she currently is. I'm not saying it isn't possible beause there are artists our there that can prove it real. Britny Spears (unfortuantly) is still going as is Micheal Jackson, and they too are pop stars. Lets just hope to god that Hannah doesn't spawn forth into some catastrophy l\when she gets older. Perhaps being sponsored and managed by Walt Disney will keep her sanity, or else she may turns out as the kid who once played the innocent and shrewed child in Home Alone and wind up convicted of drug use.

Okay and there is nothing that "commands" me to listen to Hannah Montana, see where I am coming from now?

There is something that commands you to listen to Hannah Montana
1) Large Fanbase
2) Accolades, Awards, Credentials
3) Truths
4) Pleasantness

That is the 4 reasons why EVERYONE is commanded to listen to her.

and as HS has put it, I will agree partially with the fact that as long as she stays on the right track then she will ultimately triumph and trump all other in the competition. I will disagree with the fact however, that she will be cast aside

Okay with everything else set aside, why is it so hard for you to believe that people just dislike her music?

That's only if she can keep a high head though. it is true, Starynight, that producers tend to ditch previous artists for new ones. She'll likely have to find someone else if she wants to continue her career as a pop star or else find another way of keeping stardum... Of cource, she can always take her millions of dollers and live as normal life like every other average joe in the world.

Half of them are eight. They have probably heard very little in the way of music in their lifetime, and many have not yet found their favorite genre. This makes them very inclined to change their tastes (though not necessarily based on popularity), and probably more fickle than any age group, race, or sex out there.

This is where I don't get you. Personally, I find the Beatles to be great, revolutionary musicians. You clearly don't share that opinion and that is fine, but if you really don't like listening to their songs, why listen to them? So you can fit in? Honestly, I doubt anyone will care that much about your taste in music. Why not just listen to what you want to instead of doing whatever you are "commanded" to listen to? (Commanded by whom, I still don't know).

The fact that you still think someone is commanding you to do anything is beyond me. What did god visit you in a dream and tell you to listen to Hannah Montana?

Well then, look at that. A bunch of people who aren't me like her. A person who isn't me gave her an award. You who aren't me see it as pleasant and truthful. Well golly gee, let's just forget what I think, and believe. That doesn't matter. Want to go pick up a bread ration comrade?

I find the temr used here of "Cammanded" stupid. Sucked in may be a better choice, because if musics commanding you then you've been sublimalised in some way.

Which makes him fit right in.

I'm starting to think you live nowhere near the USA if you believe anybody is "commanded" to do something. And how can you honestly believe that anybody is going to change their opinion because some person on the internet is saying they should do anything.

OMDUUD I'm gonna go buy 50 Miley Cyrus CD's and use them as fuel in a bonfire tonight, who's in?

I'm there!

EDIT: Aceptas tal como soy!

Yeah more people in the world speak Spanish then English so learn it as the world commands it more then English.

@ NickthePunk: When have people disliked firefighters after saving a kitten from a tree?! When has some disliked the doctor for saving their life?! When ever has someone disliked the birth of a baby they had been waiting to have for a lifetime?!?!!?Never, Never, Never, Never!!!! Similarily Hannah Montana features all of the same qualities of those ideas as well. That is why it is so hard to comprehend why anyone in their right mind would dislike her!!!! Honestly!!!

@HS, well I find it hard to provide a counterargument or point, I have seen quite often that people who win on American Idol or make it far and have debut albums seem to get dropped by their labels and turned aside, so it must be true

@HomicidalCherry53: I have never been mad and aggravated at someone yet laughing at the same time after reading that response. Regardless of my feelings. We have already gone over the pint in which Hannah Montana speaks to everyone the same no matter their age. If someone is willing to switch their musical orientation because of a decrease in the fanbase, then woe be to them. a true fan is willing to stay with their musician through the tought times and bad times (though a great musician would never have bad times, as we have seen with HM). What is so hard to grasp about listening to music that has the qualifications to demand them to be commanded to. Recognition, accolands, a large fanbase, pleasing music is that which is commanding us to listen and be fans of the music we choose, or so we think, to listen to you. It isnt some higher being, but rather the spirit of music that commands us and shows us that which we need to listen to. One who can not recognize this has yet to be able to listen to the truly great and omnipresence nature of good music.

This is the most pointless debacle I can think of. Being command to speak a language is only applicable and based on national committees, bylaws committees, governmental entities, and business practices. There is no way to define Spanish as having a large fanbase, even then the fanbase would be split between diferent regional differences and entities. Even then Hannah Montana is world famous so people around the world know her and are equally commanded to listen to her, jut as you whom is so adamant to to follow his own deviant and incorrect musical choices.
