Why do people want to see Nintendo fail?

i agree with valentine, the wii is just not enough. i personally love my Wii60 setup (and ps2....and nes.......and ds........ and psp.......and.......xbox.......) i feel like i will never need a ps3, all the coolest next gen games are going to come out for 360, and yes even wii. the wii however, im not so sure about the wii. its cool and all, but all the games feel generic, feel the same. (even re4) and i also feel that its not the "immersion factor" that nintendo promises. it doesnt make you feel like your in the game, its basically using an analog stick, but in a different form. just basically feels like another way to play, not really revolutionary.

:)

Not yet, but soon, developers will manage to get a grasp on the controling.

Yeah but another thing to remember is that just because a game might not be "next-gen" doesn't mean it's not fun to play. Right now I'm totally addicted to Super Paper Mario, and sure it's basically a Gamecube port with added-on Wiimote functions. But it's fun, and that's the only thing that really matters when it comes to games. People get so caught up in console wars though that they forget that.

I think that's one of the problems Nintendo is having right now. It looks like developers are heavily focusing (and rightfully so) on the 360 and just porting to the Wii. Eventually it will get better but I think Nintendo won't truly be back on top until their next console.

dont get me wrong, i like the wii, you know i do. but its basically a gamecube with different controls, and the controls are not necessarily better than sing a standard controller

No, it's more an Xbox with new controls. At least it has new controls, though.

Yeah, the Wii's graphics are maybe just a lil step up above the Cube. Still not as good as the original Xbox though. I think Creepin pointed out the specs.

Maybe Nintendo should have thrown in at least a little bit more graphical power in there. Its not like they couldn't afford it. There making $40 on every console they sell so I would have just put in a little bit extra graphical power, maybe enough to put it a little bit above the original Xbox and keep the prcie the same. Its not like they would be losing a ton on the consoles they make...

Losing any is more like it. Nintendo's only one making profit on the hardware.

I'm saying they should have made the consoles a little more expensive, maybe add a little more graphical power, and they would still probably be able to come out even.

Graphics are fine, Soulcalibur looks good, it's weaker than the Xbox graphics, but it's still good. I can see if you could say that around NES time, when graphics were so bad on some games, they weren't even possible to play, but now?

Its not only about graphics. Better hardware=bigger games, better AI, and just generally gives developers more freedom to make better games.

i agree fully. just look at fallout 3 or oblivion, simply not possible on wii.

That's sure happened with the PS3 and 360, right? Nope. Just about everything is to make it look prettier than it needs to be.
