Woman dies trying to win a Wii! Very sad story...

Two things about that are VERY sad...

1) Many people don't know that you can actually drink yourself to death with water...If there is too much water in your system with too little electrolytic content (you have to have a certain balance of sodium and potassium salts among other things in your bloodstream), it can cause cells to explode. Human kidneys can only process and filter so much water & salt.

2)This statement:
Ybarra said before the contest, he did not read a liability waiver form handed to him by station personnel before signing it. Ybarra said he was surprised by the physical toll he felt after the contest.
It's sad how many people will sign LEGAL DOCUMENTS without reading them... That should be a quick lesson to everyone. NEVER sign ANYTHING without thoroughly reading and UNDERSTANDING the content first.

I even scan through any program installation agreement before clicking "okay" or "accept" just to make sure the word "soul" isn't in there... I've actually been tempted to make a program where the installation would have a bunch of legal jargon with a "by clicking accept, you therefore sell your soul" in the middle, just to see how many people would still click it and have no idea what they "agreed" to.
 
Hold your wee for a Wii?? Some of these contests border on the insane.

Sad thing is, is you have to have some sort of sodium intake when drinking water. During the summer, I would tell the kids who worked for me to drink lots of water and eat plain potato chips throughout the day. If they researched this before doing something completely stupid, this woman would be alive.

Obviously, but I don't think the contestants knew the dangers. I barely learned about water intoxication last year. It's just not something you hear about very often.

Sometimes I think about how sad it would be if my dad died. He is always trying to make everybody else happy and stuff...it would be so sad.
 
ahh sad :'( ...I would be so mad at the radio place if I knew her >:( ...I am mad and I don't know her......I don't like to think about people I love dying.....I am going to go read something happy now......
