Wow! Homemade lightsaber duel video!

As far as I'm aware, based on no research, there is no way to do it other than hand. I believe I checked at the time I was doing the rotoscoping, but I didn't see anything immediately other than hand-step-procedures. There may be a program out there, but if there is such a thing I'm not aware. Really, rotoscoping isn't that bad. It's kind of fun, just overly repetitive after a while. As long as the scenes are changing it's very fun and rewarding.

Ya that's how we always did it. It was frustrating to film a scene knowing it was going to take 10 times as long to add in all the spfx. And if you cheaped out and rushed it the quality difference was quite noticeable. When I watch the actual Star Wars movies I just think that there has to be an easier way.
