Recent rumors of a brand new black-colored Xbox 360 machine have set the gaming industry's blogosphere on fire. According to a post by GamersReports, an inside source revealed to them that Myer, a chain of Australian department stores, recently received phone calls from Microsoft informing them to prepare their stores for a shipment of new black 360s equipped with 120 GB hard drives and HDMI support. The console is rumored to cost $749 AUD ($585 USD) and will be due in Australia in the month of April, but the source claims that Microsoft is trying to push for an earlier launch to interfere with Australia's PS3 launch on March 23rd.
Although the post claims that this news is now "100% official", the author offers no actual official sources, nor has there been a confirmation from Microsoft Australia. The company dismisses anything not found in their press releases or on Xbox.com as nothing more than "pure rumor and speculation".
