Xenosaga Episode III.

Anyone else pick this up?

I'm about 80-85% done with the game and I'm mildly impressed. I and II both had their decent bits to them, but III supercedes them on a lot of levels.

The ES combat still sucks terribly, no fun at all whatsoever. Story is a lot more fulfilling in this one. Combat is fun, but I think I enjoyed Episode II's better.

Music, primarily, sucks. Boss music is great, battle music good... songs they play for hours at a time? Bad, bad.

Any other thoughts?
 
Didn't know this was out yet? I beat the first one many moons ago and have been wanting to get back into the series... I'll look into it
 
Never played a Xenosaga game. What's it about? What's the battle system like?
 
I'm probably going to pick this up in a few months... since this came out the same day as Disgaea to I was inclined to pass this one up. I still need to beat Episode II also. I never got more than a few hours into that one.

I think i need to pick up I again cuz i only faintly remember the story line... and making that robot thing that beat all the bosses in one hit... that was cheap but I'll probably get I again then go pick up II and by the time I get those finished III should be pretty cheap by then
 
I've done no research, but based on the low reply level of this thread, it surely must have been a blockbuster.... sayonara, Xenosaga.

I have 1 and 2, but I have to beat 1 first. I'm looking to buy 3 from BV so that I have the whole trilogy. From what I've played so far, I like the battle system and the storyline seems rather deep. I've heard the third one is the best one. :)

Personally, another reason I like it is for the slightly shoujo-ai implications. XD!

I'm working to get more of 1 and 3 back in... I just sold out of both last week.

They definintely sell well.. It's weird... the Xenosaga series is one of my better sellers at the store.

Really? I heard 2 was really weak in comparison to 1, or maybe it was the other way around? I dunno, I guess if I bought 3 I may as well just get 2, for personal collection's sake at the least.

In all honesty, being a mega-fan of Xenogears, I have to say that they're all pretty weak. In my opinion, honestly they don't even measure up to that former title even in conjunction. I think III managed to be the best, if only because they did a rush job and a lot more things are capable of happening.

I wouldn't mind so much if only a few things occured I suppose, but jesus, each game is barely 20 hours. So incredibly short. In contrast to a game like Xenogears, if you *tried* you *might* be able to manage 30 hours through. I've only done 35, but it wasn't particularly speedy, just somewhat.

And while the battle system is decent in III, I like the overall direction of II better. And quit changing the damn character styles every episode...
 
The story was very complex, which I liked. I loved the combat system as well. First RPG that I actually wanted to have a woman in the main party.

Uh... if you take a step back and analyze Episode I, NOTHING happened. Not a god damn thing.
 
So I am about to get this game from BV! Yay!

I still need to beat the first one, though. Maybe that should be on my list of games to beat.
