not everywhere my friend, almost everywhere but not everywhere.

On another note, I think the PS3 be able to stay a float this generation. Hell maybe Sony is doing this on purpose, think about it if their profit goes down, the stock prices go down. So they could have more people buy stock because it's cheap, then they have a great comeback.

Okay that llast paragraph I was pulling it out of my ass.

lol Yeah that made like no sense. They just decided to put Blu-Ray in there, a huge risk, but one that may pay off in the end. This entire generation of consoles will be affected pretty greatly by the Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD battle.

Personally I think Blu-ray might win movie wise, they got the adult entertainment industry. We still have a few yrs left in the console war,, Wii and the 360 are currently ahead, but who knows, maybe a comeback?

Blu-Ray's outselling HD-DVD 3 to 1 right now.

Also, I would hardly call it a comeback, considering the PS3's been out for only 8 months...

It only has to do with the 360..in which you can buy a stand alone HDDVD player. Other than that, it has nothing. If you buy the stand alone for $180, it brings the 360 to $580...you might as well get a PS3 for $500 and have the superior Bluray capabilities.

yeah its asn addon that most people will never buy

how will that impact the console war

its a bit like saying the ds rumble pack will make everyone buy a psp

doesnt quite make sense

It's just that the 360 has the capability to play HD (with the given device), and the PS3 has the capability to play Blu-ray. After HD dies off, some people who just want a home entertainment console, will purchase the PS3 for it's capability to play a more advanced, superior DVD.

not really......or at all.....hddvd has absolutely nothing to do w/ consoles
Hines, not everyone out there knows HD-DVD is finished and they likely won't commit to either side until HD-DVD has actually thrown in the towel. After HD-DVD folds, many people may be tempted to buy a PS3 because of the Blu-Ray player because it is by far the cheapest on the market. If HD-DVD stays afloat till like 2009 or something, the PS3 may lose some sales, compared to if HD-DVD folded at the end of this year.
