Zelda: Twilight Princess (GameCube)

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess DELAYED until March 2006

True. Ratchet and Clank 3 = FANTASTIC game, but it got caught up in the Christmas rush. Still sold quite well, though. Nintendo played their cards well here.

Arf twilight a revolution game...mabye but if nintendo make this, that can be dangerous for his success.

So much for a last hurrah for the GC.

Nah I doubt it. They would have to delay even longer so that they can turn it into a Revolution game. It would be cool if it was a launch game for the Revo. but I really doubt it.

No, Neph, it's not going to be for the REV.

"In effect, because of the backward compatibility built into Revolution, every GameCube game also will be a Revolution title," she said. "But we feel a commitment to the GameCube owners who've been patiently awaiting this new Zelda title, and don't want to force them to wait and buy a brand new system in order to play the game."

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess DELAYED until March 2006

I think it's already done. I think they're just holding it off as long as possible so that there's less of a wait in between Zelda and the release of the Revolution. If you'll notice, they specified that Zelda would come out after the start of the new fiscal year.

Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006, after the conclusion of this fiscal year (March 31).

I think they are doing this because they are not sure of how the Revolution is going to do financially, so at least if they release Zelda in the start of the new fiscal year, they'll have more profit to work with.

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess delayed till June??

I always imagined Link's nose being thinner, but that's just me.

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess delayed till June??

But keep in mind that this is Gamestop. They like to put dates out there so that people will feel that there is an actual release date.

Exactly and Nintendo has yet to claim an offical release date

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess delayed till June??

A June date puts Zelda as coming out after E3. That makes sense to me. I'm betting that they want the E3 press conference so they can announce a date and have it be the "Big Day," kind of like Microsoft announcing Nov. 9 for Halo 2.

Plus, the rumor is that they are delaying Zelda so that, while it will still be for the Gamecube, if you have a Revolution it will also take advantage of the Revolution's controller.

See, this is why I like Mai so much, she is the Goddess of Reason and makes everything seem like it's gonna be a smooth raft ride down the river and this is just my honest opinion, no jokes, no remarks, just straight up truth.

But then what happens when the raft ride goes horribly wrong? YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS MAI!! :help

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess delayed till June??

Then Mai will come to the people and say "Do not fear me, for I am an angel of Peace, NOW GET OUT OF THE FRIGGIN BOAT YA MORON!"

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess delayed till June??

If it makes you feel any better, Walmart.com still has TP releasing on 4/3/06. However, it is my opinion that 4/3 is just a placeholder date, as 4/3 was the same date that GameStop had for months before they changed it to June. :(

I am hoping they will make some kind of official announcement at the GDC (Game Developer's Conference), which if I recall correctly takes place in March. Because if TP is truly set to come out before E3, then the GDC would be the best time to announce an official date. If they don't announce the official release date for Twilight Princess at the GDC, then chances are likely that it will be out after E3 and thus they will announce a date at E3, which is in May.

Re: Zelda Twlight Princess delayed till June??

I'm kind of hoping it does arrive a little later in the year, I still have many games I wanna play and beat first.

I agree that is the most plausible strategy, however, I think they're overlooking a big factor if that is indeed what is going through their minds. People expected this game to come out LAST YEAR. Holding off on releasing it till after E3 to make it a "Big Day" and hype it up more will not work because we've already seen it at 2 E3's. Seeing it at another one is just gonna be frustrating because we haven't been able to play it yet. In my opinion they already killed much of the anticipation when they announced it would be coming out in 2006. Once that happened it was something so far off that you kind of forgot about it, and in the meantime took interest in the Xbox 360 and PS3...

And speaking of which, wouldn't Nintendo's "Big Day" come in the form of the Revolution's release date? Wouldn't hyping up Zelda be a waste of time at E3 while 2 new consoles are being introduced? Wouldn't the Rev's hype take away from the GC Zelda's? Just some thoughts...

Not really because the Revolution is backwards compatible so you can still get both and be able to enjoy them. The GC controller port on the Revolution might actually come in handy. I still am excited about this release. I never really forgot about it. Yes it's frustrating, I wish I could have it now but Im cool Id rather buy Zelda than spend $400 on an xbox 360 or a PS2 right now.
