So much for a last hurrah for the GC.
And delaying it means it's going to be a Revolution game.
Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006, after the conclusion of this fiscal year (March 31).

A June date puts Zelda as coming out after E3. That makes sense to me. I'm betting that they want the E3 press conference so they can announce a date and have it be the "Big Day," kind of like Microsoft announcing Nov. 9 for Halo 2.
stealth toilet said:I agree that is the most plausible strategy, however, I think they're overlooking a big factor if that is indeed what is going through their minds. People expected this game to come out LAST YEAR. Holding off on releasing it till after E3 to make it a "Big Day" and hype it up more will not work because we've already seen it at 2 E3's. Seeing it at another one is just gonna be frustrating because we haven't been able to play it yet. In my opinion they already killed much of the anticipation when they announced it would be coming out in 2006. Once that happened it was something so far off that you kind of forgot about it, and in the meantime took interest in the Xbox 360 and PS3...
And speaking of which, wouldn't Nintendo's "Big Day" come in the form of the Revolution's release date? Wouldn't hyping up Zelda be a waste of time at E3 while 2 new consoles are being introduced? Wouldn't the Rev's hype take away from the GC Zelda's? Just some thoughts...
