The fact it is PG-13 isn't going to help. I mean, how can you take 2 series, both of which containing nothing but R rated movies, combine them, and get PG-13? I hate how producers want movies toned down to get more customers.........
 
That is true, but it isn't what the director wanted. He wanted an R rating, but the producers said no. The best parts of the Alien and Predator series involved gore. Like when Carl Weathers' character in the first Predator gets his arm shot off after trying to go Rambo on the Predator. Classic.
 
yea true humans will lose either way because if the aliens or predators wins their still going to kill the human race as well
though I would want the Alien team to win :woot
 
There is a book based on the movie. There are also quite a few AVP books not based on the movie. Never read them, but they might be worth a look.
 
I'm a fan of Aliens... I'm uber excited about this movie coming out.

I think there'll be deaths on both sides (duh), but the humans will escape the "war" or whatever.
 
Humans will win most likely, with predators coming in close second, and while I have not read this book you speak of, I have read the comic series from looong time ago when I was a kid, and let me just say that an alliance between 2 of the species is not that far fetched.

But from everything I have read they are not using any of the original comics story lines hardly at all, except the most basic premise. Which is a shame really, cuz the original comic mini-series had a really great storyline, much better than what I have been hearing about this movie.

But I'm still uber-excited to see it, and will prolly lay out of work opening night lol.
 
Anyone else here have the collectors edition Alien movies? I've got Alien and Alien 3, have yet to pick up Aliens and don't think I'll be buying Alien: Resurrection.

The extended edition of Alien 3 is a must-see for any Alien fan, much better than the original screenplay release.
 
What all does it have extra? It wasn't that great...........Aliens is one of the best movies of all time. I think the other Alien movies should have tried for more action.
 
Alien 3 had about a half hour more of plot added, more storyline about the prisoners, extra scenes where the alien is captured (wouldn't make sense without the extra prisoner backgrounds etc.), the "queen facehugger" scene...

It's one of my favorite movies of all time.

Aliens was a great movie, but was an action movie. The first Alien movie (and the third) were more suspensful, not just shoot-em-up. All three movies are great in their own right. Too many people dismiss the other movies and just focus on Aliens though.
 
One thing I dont get about Alien 3 though.

How come the sprinklers killed the Alien after it came out of the molten metal?
 
Humm yes that would be confusing if you didn't think of that right away. I havent seen the movie yet, i'm not planning to either. I just really care for the movie by the prev.
 
Yeah, if you, for example, let a heated piece of glass cool too quickly, it will shatter. The alien survived the intense heat, but the water cooled the lead on its skin so quickly that it caused it to shatter.
