Spart, go hold a piece of glass in a flame for several seconds, then put it under cold tap water.

You'll see why they showed him blow up (and you might want to cover your eyes with goggles).

AVP was a very cool movie IMO. I'm definitely getting the DVD when it comes out. Great fight scenes along with a better-than-expected plots make it very worth seeing.

Plus, one certain xenomorph is just awesome. You'll know which one when you see the movie.

T don't think my parents would like that........... :lol

the certain xenomorph is very cool IMO. Haven't seen the movie, but I've seen pics.

I was less than a minute away from seeing it, literally. I was in the theater, eating popcorn and the previews had just started. Alas, it was not meant to be.

Hated it. Absolutely hated it.

Worse than Van Helsing...and I HATED Van Helsing......

The original script for AvsP that was written in 1992 but never produced.

Neph, you're loony. :D

Seriously though, wow, you have very different tastes than me. I thought that Van Helsing was great and AVP was drop-dead awesome.

What movies DO you like?

Finally saw the move and Loved it, has a nice open ending that should result in another movie!

I won't post any spoilers but comes out much different than i thought and is worth seeing!

There are tons of movies I like - the 3 movies I liked from this summer were

Spiderman2
Hellboy
Anchorman

I do like stuff. I just hate badly written, shoddily made, completely unoriginal, filled with giant stupid plot hole crap.

Yeah, we do have different tastes, what I saw of Hellboy didn't keep me interested enough to sit through it. Spiderman 2 hasn't caught my interests at all either.

I wouldn't say that AVP was "completely unoriginal", heh, nor were there serious holes in the plot. The overall making of the movie was far from shoddy IMO. The fight scenes between the aliens and the predators alone were great. The plot was just enough to support those, but wasn't pretensious.

ask yourself this, DID AVP intertain you? there are a lot of horrid movies out there that are just crappy and BORING if a movie bores you it's a terrible hovie and failed it's purpose.

AVP greatly intertaimed me and i had a tun of fun while I was there, sure theres some holes but who cares it's was fun and exciting for me and hopefully you.

and (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

if we can get a AVP movie with NO humans but predators running and fighting the aliens in their space craft than kick ass. It would be kinda like the first alien movie but who cares it's fun and enjoyable.

Go SEE it and make up your OWN mind don't let other people think for you. A lot of people went into this movie hating it even before they were even done editing it.

Think for yourself for me this movie was fun something apart from the Alien and Predator series. If you hate it so much go watch a chick flix instead.

SPOILERS

I saw it, and liked it. The action scenes were well done, although it was lame how 2 of the Predators dyed really fast.

The story wasn't that great, but I didn't come for a story. I came to see some up close Alien versus Predator action!

Spart, I was rooting for the Aliens, so I thought it was AWESOME how fast those first two predators got completely pwned...

The "space jockey" was the nickname for the large skeleton in the derelict spacecraft of the original Alien movie where the crew first found facehugger eggs.

Neph, the acidic alien blood thing made sense to me. Yes, the predator used a few drops to mark himself. They explain in the movie that it was a ritual in which hunters mark themselves with the blood of their kills.

The blood is highly acidic and reactive, which, in metal body armor would create a lot of heat. The predator tore off the armor since it would have been getting extremely hot and still had a large amount of acid burning through it.

I will agree that I noted how the girl was standing out in the cold at the end (then walked to the heated arctic transport before the scene panned out). Yes, I did note that she would have been freezing to death after a few minutes out there.

That particular scene was not perfect, but still, the action in the movie overall was killer and the plot was MUCH better than I expected it to be.

I know what the space jockies are, but we really know nothing about them. Did they create the Aliens? What happened to the ship? Did it crash land and then get overrun or get overrun and crash land? Stuff like that.

The aliens rocked in the movie..

Oh, just FYI, at the point where she says the temperature would kill someone, they were talking about the arctic WATER, not the air.

And, even the director wasn't happy with this cut. Apparently, Fox decided to make the movie PG-13 and shorten it a few weeks before the release.

The DVD that will come out will be the full rated R version with a lot more in-depth material that explains things like why the chestbursters gestate so quickly.
