All purpose Halo thread

haha. When did you get it? I beat Halo on easy the day I got it, and on and off work on the higher difficulties with a coop person (i'm on my computer more than my xbox)

Well I didn't get my XBOX until March 2003 and Halo sometime after that. I don't remember exactly when. But it hasn't been that long. I've had Halo less than a year, for sure.

Did you not play it much, or have a hard time with it? I didn't find it that long of a game on easy, considering I beat it the first day while still not used to the controller (went from pc to xbox, and was still used to my ps2 controller. mouse and keyboard to controller is a hard thing to do...)

Did you beat it on easy or normal? Library on Legendary is impossible, even on coop. To beat singleplayer on legendary, prepare to take some time out of your life. Library(all) and the Maw(engine room) are probablly the hardest.

Mai Valentine, you seem to be one rich sob. If I had half the games you do (which I've never counted, so who knows actually...) I'd be a happy, and busy, person.

Not rich, by any means. I work at Wal-Mart. :p There's no way to get rich there, unless you're in management, which I'm not.

Sadly, or fortunately, sometimes both, I live at home with my grandma and therefore have to pay less rent then I would living out in the world. So I save a little money that way. Then you have used games, games people give you as gifts, employee discounts (10% at Wal-Mart, 15% at GameStop [where I also work]), cheap games on eBay....it comes together nicely.

Hey,
Man I hate to sound like I'm bragging but I swear on my life that I beat Halo on legendary ALONE in less than a week. The library is absolutely insane but there is certain techniques to pass it fairly easy, corners, thats all I can say in that level, use the corners and let them S.O.B.s come to you: grenade, shotgun, repeat......Now you wanna know the real hard part of halo on legendary?, towards the end when the flood AND the special silver colored enemies all attack you at once. The silver elites are to powerful to battle, so what you do is is run around till the flood is chasing and jumping at you, than you run right towards the silver covenant, than run like hell and watch the fireworks, but make sure you grenade too cause there will still be some silvers left, basically this technique is used as a distraction. And my only other tip for legendary is use your friggin grenades, plasmas that is, you MUST learn how to stick enemies with them at ease, it is the only way to survive. Oh yea, another insanely hard part is on the 3rd level when you get sucked up into the ship and the elites with swords come out and kill you over and over, heres a tip, when covenant come running out of the doors, run inside one of the doors and just post up, make ceratain you have a sniper rifle with lots of ammo cause before you know it about 4 or 5 gold elites come charging you and the only, and I mean only, way to progress past that part is to snipe them at close range...good luck

P.S Spartan, have you beat it on legendary?

Yeah, I've beat it on Legendary by myself. People who brag about beating it on co-op have no room to talk. With 2 Master Chiefs, plus respawning, even legendary is fairly easy. In Halo 2, I hope there is a limited number of respawns. I mean, in Halo, if you needed health, AR ammo, or a plasma pistol, all you had to do was kill your partner.

That did make it easier.

But then how could you have huge Master Chief wars in the middle of the level? I remember covering the entire beach in Silent Cartographer in Master Chief bodies and blood...

Hey, I never said respawning wasn't good for fun, cause it is. Like finding a spot where you can melee your partner in the back when he respawns. But if you are actually playing through the game, respawning makes the game easier, and, in most cases, less fun.

^Right there's someone else who thinks just like me.  Kill the partner before they can react  :D

Hey,
Do you mean the very end Valentine? If so, I didn't find that part extremely hard like some areas but it took me a good 9-10 tries before actually beating it, basically just keep driving straight and during a couple of spots drive right up tight to the walls on either side. Now, if the warthogs were destructable like they say they will be in 2, than that area would have been extremely tough ;)

Oh man that part would be impossible with destructable Hogs. You would have a chance to replace it at the FoeHammer place.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. As much damage as I took from the aliens and the Sentinels, my Warthog would have been very hard to drive before I even reached the spot where Foehammer is supposed to pick you up.

I beat Halo on legendary a while back, and man did I have a hard time with that part you mentioned earlier, when you first board the Truth and Reconciliation. Those sword guys slaghtered me many, many times.

I wonder how fun that part at the end would be with a buddy and a rocket launcher warthog.... :D
