Buying a PS3.

well every system has some hidden titles that look (and some are) good however for those who don't own certain (ps3/wii/360) don't know or care about the other console titles.
i looked a list of the lineup and despite what anti-nintendo people say the wii has a good line-up and most of them are third pary titles
for what you guys told me the ps3 has a good line-up for a less-than-a-year console (i didn't know anything about folklore, now i want that one too)
as for the 360 it has great games (wich i don't really like most of them but still they are great)

You have to look at what the gaming line up has for it's consumer...not just for your average joe. PS3 owners have it because it's getting games like MGS4, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, God of War 3, Gran Turismo, Disgaea 3, and probably hundreds more that aren't announced yet. That is why, in a nut shell, the argument for not having good games is sad at best.

Not if it doesn't have good games. Those games may well be spread thin and far apart. Besides, my argument was that buying a system that has few desirable exclusives currently makes no sense. I'm yet to see why that isn't the case.

I can see this is like beating a dead horse...and you're a self-proclaimed Xbox extremist...so there's really no changing you're opinion. Chances are, you'd still hate the PS3 if it had an incredible lineup like it does for the future.

not exactly XD, if the system has some of the exclusives that you love soo much that you can't live without playing them. then it doesn't really matter if the other games that you want are exclusive or not

I know you think the price is a tired argument, but honestly IMO if the PS3 was cheaper we wouldn't be having debates like this at all.

For goodness sake! I'm just asking if, PS3, Xbox, DS, Saturn and dead horse aside - is "it doesn't have any good games" a valid argument!? Yes or no? Alternatively, is "it doesn't have any games I want" a valid argument? Forget about any consoles for a second, just answer me that.

I think of the two, "It doesn't have any games that I want," is the more valid argument, because it makes it clear that it's your opinion. :)

Because really, there are no systems that have no good games. Except the N-Gage. But that's neither here nor there.

Yes and no. It all depends on how you package the statement. If someone says, "The PS3 sucks because it doesn't have any games on it", they'd be wrong. The PS3, although it doesn't have many games, it clearly doesn't suck. And the statement is presented as fact, no matter how delusional. Now, it is agreeable to say, "I'm not buying the PS3 because it doesn't have any games I want." It's a neutral opinion and not presented as fact. And as such, it is a valid argument.

Xbox 360 elite = $450 now? Is $50 really that much extra? That is why I think the price isn't too valid of an argument.

Also, I agree with Mai and Dart. To say a system doesn't have any games is a bad argument...saying it doesn't have any games you want is something that can be thought of as an argument.

well to be fair, i bet most people think elites arent worth it... premiums are a better bargain at $350 imo. it has plenty of space

On the contrary, everyone I know would rather have an Elite rather than their Premium...and there's no argument over it's price from them. Then again, they don't speak for everyone...but I can base an average off of that. :)

well yea i would rather have an elite than premium. im just saying that a lot of people wont want to dish out an extra $100 for space they might not even use...

im not dissing ps3 either. im a sony man myself. the ps2 is STILL the best console imo. and i want a ps3, but i see no need for that yet

I know you're not dissing the PS3..but I'm saying a lot of people would and did dish out the extra $100 for an HDMI port, sleek design, and tons of extra space.

i should trade mine towards an elite cuz its so crappy... but i got no dough ya hear?
