seriously... no marketing blitz, low hype, expensive prices, but yet it seems that it might be selling out.

every where around here is sold out
and alot of people are mad at best buy because they where charging 500 for tha package

It's called trendiness. Right now the xbox is the hot ticket right now. You can thank halo and XBL for that.
 
One of my wife's friends went with her husband to Wally World to buy one today. $500. They had to be escorted out by the police because people were getting a little too agressive on trying to liberate it from them.

and $500 for the normal $400 package? are you serious?! that should be criminal.

I Am still very very very surprised this is sold out everywhere UNLESS they meant to put low numbers out on the 1st day. I know everywhere is constantly getting more shipments of them (starting tomorrow). I am not surprised because I think it is a bad system or anything, I am surprised because there was almost no hype, no commercials (yes, I didn't see one except a couple web ads), and no one was really buzzing about it except here and there on some websites.

Well, the thing is though they sold out because they didn't have a whole lot of systems. The most any store got was 190, at some Texas Best Buy. I would have had mine today too...
 
I believe that at least 99% of all 360's sold out. I would say 100%, but just to be safe :p

They are already doing reports on it. Saying finding it will be as hard as Tickle Me Elmo!
 
hm...  that is an insane amount for an 360 system.... dang... buy yourself a maxed out computer, 15 games, and you'll still have enough (if you wait) for a 360, and every launch title :lol

man... people are being held at gunpoint? that is insane.

Because it's probably a parent who doesnt know that there will be more and just wants to get it for their child. Or they're stupid, either one. :)

actually.... I'd say the opposite... that is how most people get rich.

intelligence, wise investing, and being somewhat nimble. Yes, they know how to spend money... but they also know how to work the money as well.

I think it was really stupid of whoever did it...but on another note.

Rumor (yes, I know, grain of salt taken) has it that they released small numbers of the 360 to basically build up a ravenous thirst for one, and that by Black Friday more will be out. Not saying I believe it necessarily, but throwing it up there.
