Does anyone NOT like Halo?

Man...the Xbox forums are filled to the brim with nothing but Halo and Halo 2 threads lol!

Is there anyone here who doesn't like the series? Am I the only one that finds it only so-so?

heh very funny....but seriously I like the game...its just not THAT great imho...but I've never really been much of a fan of FPS's
 
Well, if you don't like FPS games, Halo would fall into that category.

The game doesn't suck for sure though. You don't have to love it, but I really don't think that I've heard anyone actually say "it sucks".
 
Yeah...I'm not saying it sucks, its a well made game...just not my cup of tea I suppose..just wondering if I was the only one here hehe
 
I don't like some parts of it (spawning in front of someone and getting smacked more than once in a game) but I think it's pretty good. Way too overrated though.
 
Well thats kinda my sentiments as well, its a good game...but way overrated I think. Certainly are better games on the Xbox.

I like the game, but its not my favorite FPS out there.... There other FPS games that I like better.

I'll back you up..I reckon Halo is sooooooooo overrated. Good fun but not great fun. And any game where you can't actually die is ridiculous. No challenge at all (even on legendary). I'm still recovering from beating Mr Blonde's Revenge on 00 or is it perfect level...PD is a game and 1/2
 
I think Halo is overrated in that it makes people ignore Perfect Dark, which did everything that Halo did before Halo did it. And with bots, even!

Sadly for the XBOX, I do feel that Halo and Halo 2 are still the best it has to offer (with the exception of Ninja Gaiden), although I do also enjoy many other games (as seen in my collection in the collection thread). Now that Halo 2 is out, I really don't have anything that I am looking forward to besides Area 51, which isn't even exclusive.

But even with that said, I'll probably be picking up an XBOX 2 because I think most of the games that I was looking forward to on the XBOX got pushed back to the X2. Perfect Dark Zero is a good example.
 
B.V. do you have Halo or Halo 2? I've never seen an xbox hooked up over there. If ya have either one, we'll have to deathmatch some time. :D
 
I'm sorta waiting for Unreal Championship 2 to be released. That looks like it'll be a great game.

Of course it'll never be noticed with Halo 2 around, since no one would ever think of liking a FPS game on Xbox more than Halo 2...

nah... I had a used Xbox with Halo (played it for awhile).... and then I got a chance to play up some Halo 2 as well.

Its pretty good, but I do like other FPSs better.

I had the tester system at one time.. in fact, I had about 3 Xbox's at one time... but I got rid of them all.
I am cursed by the Xbox.. everytime I try to sell something Xbox, I end up losing money for some reason.

Halo's not overrated...I dunno though maybe it's just me, but I have not played any other Fps that let's you pull drive by's, use flying vehicles, has such genius A.I, has such gorgeous graphics, has such a good story, etc, etc. I think it has alot of elements that are similar to most fps's but the way it combines them all in one game is what makes it shine. One other wierd thing is that I did not like the game as much as I do until I played it on legendary, and I think above else it was the challenging gameplay that makes me feel it stands alone. I have played dang near every fps and I have never been put through such a rigorous test of speed and skill. But like I said this is all just my opinion........
 
Well the graphics are only good for a console, PC's much better. But Halo does somehow pull all the wanted gameplay goodies and puts them together in a really fun game.

I like, most of all, huge multiplayer battles with my friends. Most of them don't have a computer good enough (no one has all the LAN equipment necessary) or the space/time enough to play a LAN party with our computers, so Halo on Xbox is the next best thing.
 
Yes, I have noticed that Halo seems more pick-up-and-play than a lot of other FPS. The controls just seem so much better. I've gotten quite a few of my friends addicted to Halo 1 & 2 and they love it even though they don't generally like fps games.

A friend of mine tried to get me to like Red Faction 2 but I just don't like the way it feels as far as controls. Same thing with Unreal Championship.

I do think that Halo is very well done. But I also think Metroid Prime was well done but didn't receive enough attention because everyone wanted to compare it to Halo, when they are pretty different. That's really all I mean about Halo being overrated. People make it out to be "the best game evar!111!!!" and while it's a great game, it's not the best ever, at least IMO.
 
I never liked Halo much, but Halo 2 makes me want to buy an Xbox.

I'm not sure what the big difference is between the two, but I'm thinking it has something to do with the multiplayer. For some reason the multiplayer on Halo 2 (online) is the most fun I've had with a videogame in a long time. I never once felt like that while playing Halo. They must have found some kind of perfect equilibrium of realism and fun for that game or something, because nothing else compares to it.
 
I hate the single player AND I think the story line is complete crap and that people praise the single player too much...
