Favourite FPS

I don't have too many. I thought Red Faction was kinda cool, but really short and not very well developed multiplayer. I think Timesplitters 2 is fun, just because of the massive number of characters to choose from.

I thought both of the first 007 games were horrible, but I've never played the new one (and don't plan to, with my dislike for the first two).

Never really liked Medal of Honor, simply because I couldn't get past the first level. I bought it at a yard sale, tried playing it a few times, and never could beat that first level. I couldn't see anything, thanks to the shakiness of the screen and the sand exploding around me. That and the fact that I kept getting killed in the most cheap ways devised by man...

I guess SOCOM is more of a 3rd person shooter, and I was never good enough at that game to play online.

My favorite FPS (finally getting to the point after all that rambling) is definately Tribes: Aerial Assault. I like this game much more than I'll ever like Halo. My bro and I used to play Tribes online all the time, and always would be the best players in the match. I disliked the inability to chat properly with my teammates, but the gameplay more than made up for it. If you ever get the chance, make sure to at least rent this game (worthwhile only online or a botmatch. The singleplayer campaign isn't all that great).

the whole blowing up the environment thing made red faction good. i didn't like the 2nd one as much as the first. they changed something that made it... not as good.
i played the hell out of timesplitters. disappointed they never put online with it. i've lan'ed it a few times though.
you can make socom first person if you can do that view all the time :-p

Isn't the third Timesplitters supposed to have online to it?

And yes, blowing up the environment in Red Faction was one of the greatest things to do :D

On the PS2 my favorite would be Timesplitters

I think the 3rd one is suppose to, too bad we still have 3 months to wait for it.. I think

I loved having it where my friend and I were on one team, and we had 3 teams full of bots on the hardest difficulty against us. We'd always win in CTF and team deathmatch.

i don't acutaly own any fps for the ps2, thought i have play timesplitters and its about the only one that i like. Im not very good at them lol

For me, nothing tops Medal of Honour: Frontline.

Man that game rocks. Second one stinks though.

Go to gamefaqs or something and find a walkthrough. You owe it to yourself to play the rest of the game as it truly rocks something chronic. Great fun. In fact the first level rocks somethign chronic too. Amazing.

As for Timesplitters 2...I've heard from very reliable sources that it is poss to play it online..not seen it myself though.

Yeah, I've also heard that it's possible to play online. Never tried it though, maybe I should...

I've played most of the other levels of MOH: Frontline at friend's houses, but I don't think it's that great of a game. I've played other WWII simulations that I liked much better.

but the gewehr is so awesome in that moh frontline :D

i do lan, but it was always stated in mags to not be online

I own Red Faction now, and I like how you can climb up thngs by using the L1 and L2 buttons. Climbing up obstacles by just moving towards them whilst looking up never did it for me.

I would have to list Killzone as my favorite FPS on the Playstation 2. A lot of people dogged it as an average game, but I think it's the best FPS on the console. It has a great story, a cinematic feel, graphics as good as can be expected on PS2 hardware, a fun multiplayer mode, creative weapons and a killer atmosphere.. I even like little details such as the way your gun sways when you reload, almost giving a disorienting effect. I'm hoping for a Killzone 2, but preferably on Sony's next generation hardware.

i actually like Breakdown on Xbox
Well this isn't the Xbox board, now is it? :p

Breakdown's a cool game. I like how it's more first person than other games in that you can actually see your hands on the ladders, you can see yourself pick stuff up, eat it, etc.
