the pci card you have next to your GPU? move it down a step, i assume thats an XFI card or the like? you might notice some difference there.
also, are there any fans blowing DIRECTLY across your HDD? when in a game, your HD can spin up to its maximum and on todays games, will do so almost constatly. without proper cooling they will shut down.
what i would do..
move the pci card down to the bottom, away from your GPU intake fan. maybe see if your case has room for a cooling fan on the front right near the HDD. also, does the door of the case have a fan on it or a place for a fan on it? if so, invest in one there, you will not be dissappointed.
