Hi Junkies!

Is there any video game or system that you think is underrated?

God Bless,

In my opinion the GameCube is an underrated system. As far as games, wow, there is a lot of underrated games. Pyschonauts, Okami, Metal Arms, Disgaea, Vagrant Story, Dark Cloud 2, Nocturne, Rogue Galaxy, etc.,...too many more to list!

GameCube and Dreamcast most def

And around here where I live, I still feel the PS3 is underrated. From my experience, even from employees...nobody wants to test a PS3 :( They just wanna test a 360 or Wii...

Most underrated games? Man where to begin...

Xbox- Grabbed by the Ghoulies (such a masterpiece)
SNES- Secret of Mana (Not many people played it) and Demon's Crest (A truly hidden treasure)
Wii- Dragon Quest Swords
DC- Plasma Sword
PS1: Battle Arena Toshinden series, Rival Schools, Beyond the Beyond
PS2: Castle Shikigami 2

Mega, ever seen the Toshinden anime...? Toshinden was freaking awesome.

I've never seen it, heard it was interesting, but in related news

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3170676

Toshinden is coming back to Wii apparently..

Didn't realize that we could also mention games. In that case...

Xenogears and Ehrgeiz (sp?) for the PS1.Squaresoft was on a roll for a little while after they released FFVII. Unfortunately, these games went under the radar.

gosh..... if i started writing what i think is underrated my list would never end XD.... but i will try my best.

360- tales of vesperia
ps3- heavenly sword
WII- fire emblem radiant dawn
DS- The world ends with you
GBA- Fire emblem
PS2- Tales of the abyss, odin sphere, FFX-2
GC- (i would say Tales of symphonia but... that one is not as underated as.... baten kaitos origins
ps1- legend of dragoon.

Its weird to see everyone say such nice things about the Cube. :lol

Seriously, that has to be one of my most disappointing consoles of all time. When I first bought it I had really high hopes for it, but aside from some key titles that came within the launch window of the system (Pikmin, Rogue Leader, SSB:M) there really wasn't much else on it (IMO of course, don't want to start anything, just makin an observation).

In any event,

Under-rated System:
GBA SP
-Yeah I know it sold well and did receive positive results, but it's compact design is what really made it great. I used to carry it around everywhere because it was no bigger than my wallet, and it came in handy in a lot of situations. DS, PSP... all good systems, but just to big and bulky to carry around everywhere. I thought the SP shoulda got more props for being the most portable system ever.

Under-rated Games:
Like everyone else, I could list a bunch. But for brevity's sake:
Winback: Covert Operations - Like Metal Gear for the PS1, but with less boring, and more awesome.
Dynamite Headdy - made by Treasure on the Sega Gen, nuff said
Pocky and Rocky - For the Snes, it was pure Japanese incredibleousness.
Heroes of the Pacific - Action Arcade-y WWII flying combat game made by Ubisoft with the best cloud physics ever.
Freedom Fighters - Pikmin, but with guns, and urban warfare, and communism. Hell yeah.

I'll leave it at that for now. :D

Good list of games, I forgot about freedom fighters. For the Cube, I say it was underrated because it had a pretty respectable list of quality games. To name a few; Pikmin 1, 2, Fire Emblem, Metroid 1,2, Wind Waker, Paper Mario, Baten Kaitos, Baten Kaitos Origins, Tales Of Symphonia, Smash Bro's, Double Dash, Sunshine, RE:Remake, RE0, RE4, Luigis Mansion, Eternal Darkness, and a pretty good chunk more. IMO those were all fun, good quality games. I also think the system itself was underrated as it seems to produce just as good if not better visuals than the PS2 and the controller feels very nice and smooth. Obviously, though, to each their own.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the GBA player was a pretty sweet add-on for the Cube.

Oh, I forgot to mention REmake, and Eternal Darkness. I agree that those games were great, and underrated. The rest I could do without, but I'll admit that's strictly personal preference. Also, on your remarks over the controller, I agree that the GC controller was pretty good. Soul Calibur on the Cube was by far the best thanks to it, and even now in SC IV on the 360 and PS3 I still find myself fumbling with awkward hand positions to accomplish that which came effortlessly on the Cube.

I guess in my mind it would have been better to take the few games that were fantastic on the Cube and put them on a console that had other really good games on it. So in that sense I don't see the Cube as a system being underrated, I see a sub-par system blessed with some games that ought to have appeared on other, more worthy, consoles. :lol

Also, no one mentioned Viewtiful Joe, which I thought was one of the best games to come out on the Cube.

More worthy? Like what, the frikkin Xbox :lol Anyhow, you have your opinion and that is fine. What I see in the Cube is a great little system that is a throwback to older times when games focused on being fun more than anything else. But, I guess this is just where we differ as gamers. I simply want my games to be fun, I could care less how cool or realistic the graphics are, or how violent/mature they are. I'll take a "kiddy" looking, fun, and quality game such as Paper Mario or WW over any of the majority of games today. But, I have always been old school like that, so that is why I love Cube, because it retains that old school Nintendo fun I grew up on and love. Also, the console itself was well built and cool in design, IMO. If anything, other consoles should take note of what the Cube did :)

that's why i believe is underrated... because some people believe what you just said.... the gamecube as a whole was a good console i don't see how it was sub-par system.

I would say the opposite, which is the PS2 being the less worthy console and also being the one that was blessed despite it limitations. Most PS2 games should have been on either the Xbox or GC. In my opinion they would have looked and played better.
