Well then what have games been working towards for the last thirty years, if not perfection, and since when is it unattainable?

It's all about opinion Cherry. There will never be one game that every single person will say is a perfect game. Games are allowed to strive towards perfection. That's what makes them better...but not perfect. Hence, unattainable.

And a reviewer scores a game based on their opinion so if a reviewer finds a game to be perfect, he can give it a 10/10. But if he had already given 30 imperfect games a 10/10, two games of different quality would have the same score.

So let me ask you this. Were those other 30 games within the same time frame? Or of the same genre? Maybe even in the same series? Kinda makes a huge difference.

Yes, time period and genre do make quite a difference when comparing games, however a flaw is a flaw, no matter the genre, time frame, or series. That is why I put the word imperfect in there; to imply that the reviewer found at least one flaw in every one of the 30 games. I don't feel it's fair to give a game that the reviewer found flawed the exact same score as a flawless game.

No game will ever reach perfection. Ever. Developers can strive towards a better product each and every time, but perfection is unattainable by anything in this world. Nobody is perfect, nothing is perfect, and no game will ever be perfect. It's all a matter of personal opinion. A game will have always have flaws, no matter how many times you check it, and as long as a game has flaws, it cannot be perfect. A 10/10 resembles over-the-top performance and excellent gameplay, not perfection. And each grade below that deteriorates until a game is just absolutely repulsive in most aspects.

Perfection = unattainable
Brilliance = attainable

It's all just a matter of opinion.

I've never read a review that didn't point out a single flaw.
Have you read every review ever? How about asked every owner of every game what they would give it? No?

Some people don't know how to review properly, and are so mesmerized with the greatness of a game that they fail to recognize its flaws.

Exactly. Hell, 90% of the gaming population is so blinded when they just get a game that they refuse to acknowledge it as anything less than perfectly flawless.

Iam just curious, ive read alot of your posts and you are always critical on every post or topic so whats your deal, they are just stating their opinion on the subject so you don't really have to quote everyone just to make some one line point to them but i do agree with you about the gaming population being blinded when some new flashy game comes out and especially how everyone is quick to jump on the band wagon of some new game just cause it sells alot of copies.

Hence why I've said I've never read one. I'm sure they're out there. I just never read one. Hard to understand? :lol
