MGS isnt even close to being a mainstream series, and doesnt have a huge fanbase

under 500,000 tops

and at fhq and frodo, mario galaxy graphics ftw

looks like a low end 360 game, which is amazing

I think MGS4 will sell very high, probably the biggest on the PS3(depending on Ratchet and Clank), but nowhere near 1 million on the first day.


First week, maybe. Wait and see, though.

if its comepletely owned by nintendo, then it's a second party developer

third parties are owned by nobody, and can put games on any platform

lmao, Hines, your arrogance never ceases to amaze me. Had you taken some time to look up sales figures, you'd have figured out that the MGS serious has a huge fanbase (I don't think it's as big in North America), and always sell well over 5 million copies. The MGS games rank among some of the best selling games ever, and I would give it a very real chance of selling 1 million copies in a day. Next time, actually do some research, instead of of laughing in the face of someone who could have a legitimate point.
 
People are DYING to see the ending of MGS. And if it takes 50% of PS3 owners to buy the game, then theyve practically got the 1000K goal in the bag, since im willing to bet that more than 50% are MGS fans.
 
As much as I love the MGS series, and pretty much the sole reason why I'm going to buy a PS3, I don't think it's going to make it to 1 million in a day. It'll sell between 500,00 and 750,000.

Personally I think this is Konami just trying to sell more copies of the game. If they wanted to then they would port it to the 360 because in all honesty it will sell well on that platform too.
 
What if it eventually makes the one million mark? Will they port it then?

EDIT: Look, every version of MGS has been re released or ported.

MGS1=MGS twin snakes.

MGS2= MGS2 substance (Also released for xbox)

MGS3= Subsistence

So I think its a safe bet.

Kinda funny, you get mad at me for bashing on the Wii when u bash on the PS3 repeatedly. :lol

It'll prolly make it to the 360 none the less. But does this take away from the PS3? Nah, it'd be a PS3 port on the 360. Plus, the PS3 has alot of good games in development. You need to stop laughing up a storm every time you hear something bad about the PS3. Just look at the sales numbers in the past month. :)

Not trying to gang up on you Hines but that statement about MGS is *pretty* far off. MGS2 was one of the most anticipated games in recent gaming history, and MGS was one of the most popular PS1 games ever.

Me to..lol...im also hoping Physco Mantis makes a return as well...I'll be part of the million for sure.

Its my assumption that when MGS4 is released, it will only be for the PS3...but when they release a MGS4 Subsistence, it will be for all the consoles...

Also don't forget that its a Global release, so the numbers they are trying to reach are not far out there...

And lastly, the PS3 has many other titles releasing in the next few years, the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fan boys are most likely enough to keep the PS3 alive :lol...
 
The numbers are kinda far out there, since there's only 5.5 million PS3's.
