However they lack something in the way of a definite storyline, for example most of the free ones seem to include little in the way of story and only focus on killing monsters for exp points and then just getting better weapons. I would prefer to save a damsel in distress, become a master of creatures, or even simply just saving the world from eternal definite destruction, rather than just playing to get more gold, shiiny weapons, join guilds, and what not.

but it doesnt really look that good so id rather play diablo 2

Poor, ignorant Starrynite, still thinking age affects a game.Starrynite said:The game is too olde, olde mechanics, olde graphics, olde playstyle, olde players, olde fun, olde appeal, there is nothing there anymore. I dont understand how my friend was so addicted to it just weeks ago that he had to break the disc in order to study for his finals. Honestly, the game is years olde, it cant possibly have any fun value anymore.

Yes, because obviously, they're playing it for Diablo 3, not for Diablo 2.Starrynite said:I willa admit that I can believe that Diablo 2 has some charm in its effects and remnant of players, but come on people just give it up, Diablo 3 isnt going to come any faster whether you play an outdate game or not.

Certainly everything in the game has already been cracked since years ago.
One of the main appeals in MMORPGs is that the comapnies periodically release new maps and such with time sensitve events, special days and special items, quests, and what nots. Once this element is gone, then the gamer isnt receiving the full experience anymore.
