MMORPG OLD or NEW

I am not sure of the question... I mean, it really depends on the game, not so much "old or new."

welcome to the boards! We hope you stay awhile :) Feel free to post up!

for me theirs a lot of good new mmorpg games than olds...

i think new mmorpg are really good than old ones..

someone can tell me here what are the good old mmorpg??

What I prefer the ones tha are graphically impressive, totally open world. However they lack something in the way of a definite storyline, for example most of the free ones seem to include little in the way of story and only focus on killing monsters for exp points and then just getting better weapons. I would prefer to save a damsel in distress, become a master of creatures, or even simply just saving the world from eternal definite destruction, rather than just playing to get more gold, shiiny weapons, join guilds, and what not.

$50 a month? Whoever told you that was lying.. badly. It's only $14.99 if you pay monthly. 3 Months is $13.99/month and 12 Months is $12.99/month i believe.

But Diablo 2 is too olde to play.

Too old? As in it won't run? If you can't run it it's not the game's fault, it's your computer's. It runs on my Vista laptop just fine.

The game is too olde, olde mechanics, olde graphics, olde playstyle, olde players, olde fun, olde appeal, there is nothing there anymore. I dont understand how my friend was so addicted to it just weeks ago that he had to break the disc in order to study for his finals. Honestly, the game is years olde, it cant possibly have any fun value anymore.

Poor, ignorant Starrynite, still thinking age affects a game.

You disgust me.

It kind of does in an MMO. People need to stop playing them after maybe a year, because there honestly isn't anything new to do in them.

I willa admit that I can believe that Diablo 2 has some charm in its effects and remnant of players, but come on people just give it up, Diablo 3 isnt going to come any faster whether you play an outdate game or not. Certainly everything in the game has already been cracked since years ago.

One of the main appeals in MMORPGs is that the comapnies periodically release new maps and such with time sensitve events, special days and special items, quests, and what nots. Once this element is gone, then the gamer isnt receiving the full experience anymore.

honestly, that's not true, there's a lot of people still playing old MMO's and as long as MMO's have people and some minor updates then is ok to keep playing them, if they don't then you can trash them.

besides starrynite 8 million of people are playing world of warcraft, i think you are commanded to play it ::)

Yes, because obviously, they're playing it for Diablo 3, not for Diablo 2.

poor misguided soul...

i must say i agree with fhq on this

people do care that there will be a diablo three but they play diablo 2 because its fun

just because its outdated doesnt mean that its not fun
alot things that are outdated are still fun hell my computer was outdated right after i got it

and bet after you play through a game its outdated to you isnt it?

oh and you think people playing dablo 2 is bad in know that there is about half that many players that play diablo 2 in diablo 1 still playin it online

There is no e in "old." Stop being pretentious.

I never said that Diablo 2 was bad or not fun, nor was I saying that there was not a Diablo 3, but I do think that all conclusive evidence points towards the game being outdated, old, and definitely beyond its prime.

No, once a game isnt beaten doesn't mean that it is outdated, what a false assumption to make. But definitely when comparing Diablo 2 to the graphical technical standards of todays current and recent technology the game is old. It is mind boggling that there are people who still take pride in this, this is just like people who still enjoy the classic GB Tetris. So old!

Edit: Fixed annoying spelling/grammar errors.
