Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling ("fourzerotwo" to you Call of Duty 4 fans) promised us something different from the game's first map pack, and Gamespot recently got a hands-on with two of the maps to put that to the test. The first map is called "Broadcast," set in the TV station from the single-player mission "Charlie Don't Surf." The largely indoor level has been expanded significantly from the single-player campaign though.

Next up is "Creek," a sprawling outdoor map full of natural cover from foliage and (you guessed it) a creek. There will be two more maps in the final pack, "Chinatown" and "Killhouse," which is apparently inspired by the single-player campaign's training level. You can read more about all of them right here.

The one in the picture looks pretty sweet.

In related news, COD4 is getting the "Game of the Year" edition in April, which includes the maps, otherwise, you have to spend 800 points to get the new maps.

Nice, I knew there was a reason why I hadn't bought CoD4 yet. :lol I'll get that version instead.

Me too lol.

I don't really see how a map could make a difference in this game. I mean...no mancannons or vehicles, and you can barely even jump.

It isn't supposed to make a difference. It's supposed to offer more of the same style of multiplayer, that is class-based, no heavy vehicles, more based around a team working in conjunction, and tactics than frenetic firefights.

Vehicles are for idiots who can't kill with guns.

The only thing that vehicles are good for is transportation for games like CTF or bomb. Otherwise, it's n00bish.

So are melee kills.
Really? Do you realize that in a melee kill, you smack them with your gun, killing them with a gun?

Exactly. There's a difference between melees and vehicles. Just in case you forgot, Hines. Melees aren't a cheap means to kill people quickly.

I'm glad that these are coming soon. I want more variety in the games in maps. I usually end up on Ambush and the dreaded Shipment for Headquarters. Bog for TDM. And usually Overgrown (or whatever) for Sabotage and other game types. That may be my only complaint with CoD4 on my end. I always end up with the maps I distaste (mostly Ambush and Shipment). Even though other games have the same problem.

He never stated that he hated it. He even said that he'd buy the edition coming out in April. Doesn't look like hate to me. He just plays Halo 3 more. :/

No, you were talking about CoD4, hence you talking about it's awesome lack of vehicles.
Nope, never said CoD4 in any post.
