^ topic :) I just got confirmation... mark your calendars!

IF anyone wants to pre-order one, get them in NOW.

It has been flying off the shelves in Japan, and they are expecting it to happen in America as well.
$129 is the price... and I guess the color it's coming out in 1st is Polar White.

I'll post more about it later when Iam able to copy and paste the supplier email.

I think when I return to work I will make sure to get as much OT as I can. I think I really want to get this. First two games on my list are...

and

Guess who has a Polar White Nintendo DS Lite reserved at Gamestop?! :D :D

I also already picked up Ridge Racer DS brand new at Microcenter for $20. I just need to get Animal Crossing. The DS doesn't require any kind of memory card right? It has internal memory or memory on the games themselves?

The guy at Gamestop said the same thing. He expected it to be a bit more than the original but it's the same price. That's fine with me. :D

why though? They originally stated that it was going to be the same price. IE like the SP with the brighter screen.

Uh, because the DS Lite is a little different. It looks like a product that could be charged more for, whereas the SP brightlight was not such a case (merely a brighter lite). The new, sleek style of this, in addition to the new screen settings make all the difference in the world. I was expecting either a drop of old Ds with this to replace, or a 20 dollar higher charge. It's just surprising to me.

I don't really want one, as I think the old DSes look better personally, but I'd like a Lite down the road

I really don't see why this surprises anyone. I was surprised when the rumor going around was $169. Usually when there are hardware changes, it's because they have found ways to manufacture for less. It would have been a ripoff if they charged anymore regardless of how it "looks."

I was surprised about the too... I mean... Nintendo officially stated (back when the DS lite was announced) that it would be the same price.

It's not a big deal... I was just surprised that people were surprised :lol Other than that... not trying to call anyone out :)

I just missed that one, I suppose.

I wasn't vehemently denying anything -I was just surprised. I didn't pay much attentio to DS Lite, because I don't really care. However, it should sell like hot cakes. I am pleased to see the same price point, though. Thanks for both responses!

I think I might actually buy a DS Lite when it comes out. I read the review for the new mario game and there are tons of other games I like on there too.

More and more I'm considering picking up that Xenosage Ep.1 and 2 on the DS from Japan. Rumor is it won't be released here in the states so I may have to go import on it. :D

Yeah there's no region lock on PSP nor DS games. There's a certain website that's got'em on sale, can't name for fear of getting in trouble. I'm thinkin' of ordering. :D

Well I broke down and ordered. The sale is only on for 1 more day so I figured I'd better get a move on. :D

As for the Lite, since I still have an original GBA I figured I'd get the newest DS. 8)

Well I got my Xenosaga Ep 1 and 2 today. So now I have Ridge Racer and Xenosaga, two Namco games how about that. Any other suggestions? Mind you I plan to get Animal Crossing next. How is that new Mario game? Might it be a Mario game I'd enjoy? Other game suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Darn it I can't wait to get my DS Lite. :D

Well I bought the Mario game yesterday, it is very good, and as for animal crossing if its anything like the GCN version that would be great, the games I have are , Super Mario 64, Kirby Canvas Curse, Bomberman, Mario Kart, and New Super Mario Brothers, I really like Mario Kart, its probably me favorite!

If anyone needs a DS lite.... drop a line to me via email.

I can get them.... in fact, I might have them a bit early.
