Ok, reality check.

This is how I see it:

It's March.

Halo 3 comes out in November.

You can reserve the Halo 3 Legendary Edition now for a $25 deposit at GameStop and EBgames.

You can add money to reserve for the next EIGHT months.

You could have it paid off by November.

Therefore, you do not have to pay all $130 at one time.

If you don't want to pay that price, period, then don't. Get the $59.99 regular edition. Or the $69.99 Collector's Edition. They are giving you options. You will not have to pay any more than you want to. You may not get the Master Chief helmet or the extra three discs, but at least you'll have the game, and that's what matters, right?

oh i could afford it, but im actually buying a 360 next month, with gears and splinter cell, so i cant spend any more money than i have to.

Yeah. Average Joe gamer should and will buy the regular, or maybe special edition. This is for the Halo-in-their-veins gamers.

I guess I should actually play a Halo game before jumping on the bandwagon. I have the first one, but have never played it.

Yeah, that would probably help. :D

I recommend reading the books as well. I'm a huge fan of the Halo franchise and it's not just because of the games. ^_^

I guess I purchased Halo because I had an Xbox. And people would assume that I had it, so now I do. And although I have quite a few shooters, it takes an effort on my part to actually play them. Maybe I just like the in depth challenge of a good RPG over what I percieve as a mindless lock'n load shootfest.

I didn't like first person shooters before I played Halo. And actually it took me a long time to get into it. I mean I liked it but it wasn't a total win at first. It wasn't until after I read the books and got some background info that I really got into it. The first book in the series especially is really awesome. Fall of Reach is what it's called, I think. The author is Eric Nylund. He's done three Halo books and they are all excellent.

But it will still sell out. At least it is in limited numbers and not just "limited edition". Ebay beware.
It comes with redone movies from halo and halo 2.
No game that I have heard about.

I like the in depth challenge of a shooter over most of the incredibly boring and repetitive RPG genre.

I like both. Actually, I like most game genres. I guess I just find stuff in each one that I like.
