Official Recent Game Happenings Thread

I haven't really leveled my weapons, to be honest. It's easier to get five stars if you don't, because the timer is based on the perceived difficulty of the battle, which is made "easier" with stronger weapons.

But if you want to, what you do is you start by using stuff that is easy to get and doesn't give that much EXP. Sturdy Bone, Barbed Tail, Vibrant Ooze, Otherworldly Bone, Diabolical Tail, and Transparent Ooze for example. Buy price is between 80 and 150 gil. What you want to do is use enough to get a 3x bonus to EXP, and then use multiple components that give a LOT of EXP so that it multiplies by 3.

Ultracompact Reactor 40,000 EXP
Supercharger 774 EXP
Particle Accelerator 4,800 EXP
Turboprop 768 EXP
Superconductor 400 EXP
Perfect Conductor 751 EXP
Chobham Armor 460 EXP
Bomb Core 551 EXP
Tesla Turbine 823 EXP

The idea is to use enough of those to max the weapon's level in one go if possible. Generally that requires about 50,000 EXP.

How about upgrading? I have had Sazh's weapon in max level for a while but I don't seem to have the catalyst to make it upgrade.

Well I was pretty excited about it. So far I'm enjoying it but not really having a blast with the gameplay but I like the cast.
Although only at act 3-2 so far so plenty of time to change ;D

I have the strategy guide but the section on weapon upgrading was sooo.... daunting and overwhelming X_X... I didn't evne know where to start. i gotta take a trip to gamefaqs.

Yeah, so far it's my game of the year. Even over inFamous 2. :)
 
Locked in a deadly 5.5 hour battle against the legendary NINJA GAIDEN on the NES. After breaking down the final boss, I wasn't able to pass the second round.
 
B Status!!!

Finally got my Dudley past 5K BP. Also got my first "hate" message. Someone called me a spammer because I kept stuffing his moves with my jabs and mediums. He won, but still, I thought that was funny.

congratulations for the B status. Congratulations for the hate message??? I don't know if that is good or bad. I ask because i was playing Blazblue as Lambda and I got one of those hate messages where I was called a coward and a spammer because I was just running away using long range attacks... though in all reality what lambda does is push enemies away to use her long range combo and punish those who come close without caution.

on the other hand I am in chapter 5 of lords of shadow doing trials and getting collectibles. I plan on getting all of them and then play the game in Paladin mode all the way through
 
lol, thanks for the congrats. I tried not to care about it but it made me wonder why he would think I'm spamming if I'm legitimately stuffing him with LPs/MPs. But I moved on and started a small winning streak.

Paladin is pretty cool. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, mostly because I had all the medallions. It was still a good challenge though.

people feel that punishing/combos are classified as spamming sometimes... I know even in games like dissidia I would get called a spammer because I was using a counter attack move (if you attack the character while a shield is on that person would instead be counterattacked) and it was rather silly since a counter move can leave you vulnerable and it can be broken through with many attacks.

Haha don't feel bad, If you didn't have to do much to counter then that's their fault.

Like awhile ago some kept doing shoryukens with Evil Ryu and I just kept throwing them after it whiffed. Got hatemail for "spamming throws and blocks" to which I just responded " lol if you didn't spam shoryukens it wouldn't be so easy to"
Half the fun of that game is getting hate mail. XD
 
Thanks Snatcher. I'm definitely not losing sleep over it, just racking my brain a bit trying to figure out the logic in it. It made me laugh though. :D
 
So, I got my 21st ticket for the Steam summer camp thing today, and realized I'd already won everything that I have games for... so now I'm winning DLC for games I dont have xD But I'm planning on getting homefront eventually, so I redeemed the homefront DLC as my 7th prize. Not sure if I'll get enough tickets for an 8th.
