Official Recent Game Happenings Thread

I picked up Tekken 6 for ps3 yesterday. Anyone up for some games sometime? Not just tekken but other fighting games as well
 
Played Rondo of Swords for a little under two hours. It's a pretty cool game.

Let's see. In the past week I beat Zone of The Enders and Zone of The Enders The Second Runner. Awesome games.

And played some Headhunter for Dreamcast. Think I'm almost done with it. Finding the sequel for Xbox for only a few bucks got me motivated to play it lol
 
I haven't posted here in forever! :-[ I preordered Red Orchestra 2 today, so to celebrate I played Red Orchestra 1. Can't wait for the beta to start next week.
 
Man.....Third Strike is just.....WOOOW. I completely absolutely suck at it but unlike MVC3/blazblue where I get frustrated In SF3 is...ok In fact I look back and I usually get bored of trials pretty quickly after I learn a few bread and butter combos for some characters but in SF3 I had a huge drive to get better so I tried learning parrying, and practiced more parrying, practiced cancels, experimented with my normals, Learned some combos with Elena and it just has been overall very very fun.

Usually the dread I have with starting a fighting game is the picking of a main and the long arduous process of looking at a strategy I wanna stick with, but this time it was like Automatic I wanted to learn Elena more than any other character. I have no idea why she just seemed interesting and when i played as her I felt like I "got it" Hell I didn't even do Arcade mode with her after practicing trials with her i just went right to online (after extensively reading about her techniques)

You can see in this video many of my mistakes probably came from not knowing how to approach or counter ken, I was trying wild things..But one thing that I liked is that I pulled off one of her bread and butter combos (unfortunately only once) but even doing that made me feel like I was improving. Sure I am still pretty terrible at the game and I am too scared to parry a fireball in an actual match (although I should) but I just feel that I am learning.

I can't really put my finger exactly in why I feel so good at being bad in SF3 probably because the more difficult a game is the better the feeling of success feels when you do something awesome.
 
I've started playing Dragon Quest 4 on my DSi XL. Very good game, I'm really getting into it. Makes me want the rest of the series for the DS.

I know what you mean about Elenda. Elena and Sean are my mains. Loved using Elena ever since I got 3rd Strike for my Dreamcast :D

do you have any tips you can give me. mostly regarding how to approach enemies offensively

That's where I learned a bit about her combos and some normal attacks that are good for poking but I wanted to see what other people use.

for some reason though I am not getting the timing of kara-throws....

Alright. I will practice kara-throws because i know Elena's kara throw is essential to her game
 
Playing through Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked. Let me tell you, this game is hardcore. I am playing on easy, and I've already been stuck in two different parts. :lol
