Official Super Smash Bros. Brawl Topic

Re: Official SSBB Topic

Nintendo apparently wants to stick to the casual gamers. Casual gamers apparently don't do online games...for those are too hardcore.

Uh...I'm not sure how much sense that makes. I would think a casual gamer would love to be able to play with his/her friends, from their own homes, easily.

Re: Official SSBB Topic

It would seem the only multiplayer Nintendo wants its fans to enjoy is (as you said) infact from their own homes...but with multiple controllers with other friends in the neighborhood.

I don't know how it makes much sense either...go ask Nintendo.

...no online multiplayer?

That's why I'm saying I don't think that's there reasoning.

I think they're just waiting till close to release to say it will have online so its bigger news.

Re: Official SSBB Topic

hmm, if that is the case, nintendo will slowly but surely start losing their hard core gamers, b/c if they keep making these revisions for the casual gamers, the hard core gamers are gonna get left out and go elsewhere, is there enough casual gamers to keep up the profit? hmm???

that is an issue somebody should address to nintendo

Will ssmbm hurt Nintendo?

:? Well here we are 3 months before the intial launch of ssbm and there are some things that have been bugging me, for some reason I have a feeling nintendo is going to ex out the online play for the game and it leaves me with one question. Is this going to hurt nintendo? I mean can you imagine how many people are going to cancel there pre orders or trade in there Wii's once they find out online has been canned? Ssmbm was the many reason most people got there wii, and if they do that, well the big N will have big problems this holiday season, in other worlds there is also word going out that guitar hero 3 for the wii might not be online becasue actvision is'nt big with the friend code thing and they don't want to make there own server, the wii version will get downloadable songs but that's all I heard intill next time. leave your thought's or comments thank you!

Re: Will ssmbm hurt Nintendo?

Well I've already discussed this with people, and I do think it could be the KOD (kiss of death) for the Wii if Nintendo doesn't make SSBB online. Sure, SSBM wasn't online and was still popular, but the GC's online set-up was barely even there (really only one online game with Phantasy Star). The Wii, on the other hand, is obviously capable of it, with Mario Strikers Charged and Pokemon Battle Revolution already online. If SSBB doesn't go online even though the capability is there, it will hurt the game, a lot.

But hopefully Nintendo is just waiting to announce it, just like they haven't officially announced Snake yet even though we all know he's in the game. :)

Re: Will ssmbm hurt Nintendo?

the kiss of death :lol. brawl without on-line in this generation = THE WORST IDEA EVER

however if it doesn't have on-line i'll still buy it because my neighbors are super smash players and we always make melee tournaments

We know it's early, but you may want to go ahead and ring the bell that wakes the defense forces: Nintendo has revealed their online plans for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. And Friend Codes are, as you probably feared, in full effect. Luckily, if you don't mind a pared down experience, it's possible to play without them.

If you're competing with a friend, you'll be able to send personalized messages to them as you battle that you'll map to the D-pad. If you play against a stranger, no records are kept of the match. You also won't be able to see a stranger's name, and you won't be able to send messages. So you can stop planning all the creepy things you'll say about about your undying love of Pokemon and how well-sculpted your glutes are right now, child predators! Friend Codes have saved the day again.

I'm glad that they finally announced it, but I don't think it was the right time. They should have either told about it at E3 to build more hype, or wait until closer to release date. But, I'm glad they laid out their plans.
