Never said they overhyped themselves.

emmm don't count me out of that... and we didn't overhyped ourselves because of the reason i stated above

It's no Melee.

It has the least amount of sequel innovation I have ever seen in a series....even Tony Hawk.

Sure there are new characters and levels and whatnot, but they play the same as before.

Let's not forget the broken online play, shall we? ::)

Oh no, there are far worse culprits there. Madden comes to mind.

I agree how ever that the core gameplay is the same. They changed the physics engine, slowed it down, got rid of glitches, added final smashes, and made a few other changes, but, at its core, it's still the same two button combat system Melee, and the original both had.

Well Madden is a given. :lol

Brawl does nothing that melee didn't.

Ah, I getcha now.

But yeah, I still think it's the best game I've ever played. I'm loving it as much as I loved it day 1.

Brawl does nothing that melee didn't.

So I guess Melee had replays, stage builder, Subspace Emissary, new airdodge mechanics, Boss Battle, co-op Event/SSE, etc.? Wow, I had no idea. :lol

I know that you're referring to the fact that they're the same gameplay. A trite expression comes to mind in response -- if it isn't broken, don't fix it. Melee's formula was amazing.I disagree with you, though, when you essentially claim that Brawl is basically Melee 2.0 (I feel that it's far different, tbh). In fact, that only real thing I can find that they have in common is some of the older gametypes (All-Star/Coin/Events) and the fact that you have to gain damage on an opponent to KO them. Really, it's improved and completely renovated different aspects. It's like saying Halo 2 is essentially Halo 1.5 because you kill people in both games.

Anyhow, /IMO. I know I'm not going to magically sway you to fall in love with Brawl; I'm merely friendly debating with you. :)

Everything beyond the basic combat is different. Trying to say otherwise when you've barely played it isn't the smartest thing you can do. You can whine all you want, "Oh, I think it's the exact same thing and I just hate it!", but honestly, with the amount of time you've given it, your opinion actually does mean nothing on the subject.

yeah and i had no idea that meele characters where this different either... and that meele's stages are soo good looking... and that meele has this many soundtracks.... stickers , trophies.

and i had comepltely no idea that meele changed the situation of the battle with just 3 items ( dragoon, gooey bomb, final smash).

of course as it's core is the same =_= is suposed to be a sequel (don't forget about halo either by the way) but with all these new things and feelings.. people who really enjoy brawl can see the difference between melee and brawl

Pretty much every sequel shares the same basic gameplay, so crying about one doesn't make it any different.

Did I say anything other than the basic combat being the same?

Um....I have every character, and beat the Subspace Emissary in one sitting (which was horrible, by the way)

I've played it more than enough to judge it, thank you very much. It's very much Melee 1.5. It has a bare-bones stage builder, just so they could say they could have one. Replays are kinda cool I guess.

@Kirby...Halo 2 did infinitely more than Halo 1 did when compared to Melee and Brawl. :lol

WOW! No one's even done that yet!

The best you can do to say it's Melee 1.5 is list new features...

Added dual wielding and...nothing else...

1. Never said I did anything out of the ordinary......so you're just making an arrogant fool of yourself. Carry on.

2. Yeah, has a few new things. But I realized it's insane to pay $50 for it.

3. Lol, play Halo 1 multiplayer and tell me it's the same as Halo 2's multiplayer.

One could say the same thing about Melee and Brawl's multiplayer.

I'm not seeing it. If you are good at Halo 1, that doesn't mean you will be anywhere near good at Halo 2. But in Melee, if you play as Link or someone, you pop in Brawl and.....it's like you're playing Melee again...

well basically but what did double wield add???

what did final smashes, dragoon, and between other's add??? lots of funny situations XD and changes in the battle (specially explosions). in melee items where just grab = throw or use.. here in brawl these item's powers make you want to fight for them wich completely changes the way of the battle.

hines are you blind or something???? link in brawl =/= link on melee.. they feel way too different

Are you kidding me? I mean seriously, is that a joke? They are the same exact thing. The majority of characters weren't modified whatsoever from Melee to Brawl.

Brawl has online. Melee doesn't. That , alone is a huge difference, as big as the difference between Halo's multiplayer and Halo 2's multiplayer.

This, I completely disagree with. They nerfed several characters, from Melee to Brawl, and strengthened others.

Um.....Halo 2 has online. Halo doesn't. That along with the infinite other changes just further prove my point.
