$600 for the one with the bigger hard drive.
Who's going to buy this thing?

Is Sony directly attempting to screw the consumers with the "idiot pack"? The lack of HDMi implies that the lesser model also can not play Blu-Ray movies, though this was not directly stated by Sony for obvious reasons.
What's the deal?
BINGO! I cannot play Blu-RAy, it will not have the memory card slots, the hard drive is smaller, and there are a couple other things not included (I think wireless is excluded as well).... BUT..... it's not the fact that they aren't included... BUT IT IS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ADD THEM BACK ON.... which creates 2 different system versions! SEE... Microsoft was smart... offer the smaller pack, BUT make it so that people can upgrade the components.... AND BOTH 360 offerings ARE THE EXACT SAME... just one doesn't have as large of a hard drive and less accessories.Sartori said:Same situation - it's just unaffordable at this point. I'll be more likely to buy a 360 at this stage.

yes... that is true.Tommy V said:Well the only thing I heard about the $500 version is that it won't include the flash card and memory stick slots, won't have wifi, and will not have the 2 hdmi connections. Not sure if it'll be 0 hdmi's or maybe just 1.
what if the games come on a blu-ray disc?Tommy V said:Well I have no plans to buy blu rays anytime soon, I'm quite content with my DVD's. My PS3 will be for PS3 games only, and the occasional PS1 and PS2 game. All the other stuff is not needed or necessary.
