Okay, did not know that. Here Australia we do things differently, we don't have to be part of a union to get paid more on weekends. By law they have to but some places don't pay more anyway or just don't make you work on weekends. :/

I know how it feels to work weekends. That's why I'm so glad to have this current job. I work 9 hour days but I get every other Friday off. So I get to have 3 day weekends every two weeks.

Where I work you get 1.5x hourly. But you usually get reprimanded if you go into overtime. They don't just freely give it to you. And we don't get weekend pay.

Although it is food.

I like it. :)

Your lucky. I get random sporadic hours, so I could be working anywhere from 3 to 10 hours at a time. And weekends off? What is that?

If anyone's ever in Southern California and wants to play a drinking game, I have a good one. Just make sure there's a designated driver if you're using the hard stuff. Personally I would do it with soda, but then again I don't drink.

So, if you are driving on any freeway from SoCal to NorCal, take a shot every time you see a Wal*Mart or a Denny's. :D

Also, this would probably actually work in any state.

Have fun with that. ;)

That is such a bad drinking/driving combo!

Just watch the anime FLCL and take a shot every time someone gets hit in the head (by any object). My girlfriend passed out after one episode with that game... HA!

You could try this one I saw somewhere. Google is wonders...

And about work...you have to be a member of a union to work where I work. In my opinion tho, it just seems like they take eight bucks a week from me and don't do much of anything...but who knows what stuff would be like without a union. For instance, they cannot give u a split shift or have u come in for less then 4 hours at a time where I work.

Walmart used to pay people an extra $1 on Sundays. But they stopped doing that with new hires recently, and you only get it now if you are grandfathered in to it.

It is an Employers market here, so where I live they are basically taking advantage of employees and paying them way less and not giving raises/making them work screwed up hours.

That sounds ultra crappy.

No, whats ultra crappy is walking into a messy store cause people are lazy, working my ass to the bone to try and make it work, only to get yelled at for not working hard enough.

Can I take a wild guess...? Food service?

Where I'm at I get around 25 hours a week, and I don't get raises at all, but it's not stressful and definitely an upgrade from food service (shudders).

The funny thing about this next set of consoles is that they are actually driving me to PC gaming. All I need to do is upgrade my video card.

I just posted some video card threads. *hint, hint* :D

But I hope more people start to get fed up with MS' (and most likely Sony's) policies and restrictions. They're asking too much for too little.

Agreed. I've been more and more into PC gaming since last gen. Consoles are becoming more like PC's anyways so why not just use a PC which is a lot more flexible in its uses and customization.

Ever since I got a PC that's capable of running modern games competently, I've chose to get PC over console for a lot of games. I still have a hard time with the keyboard and mouse thing, but I'm slowly getting there. >.<
