PS3...thoughts so far

well....did we really expect a bette matrix game after enter the matrix?

That's completely different because Enter the Matrix was a piece of crap. Killzone was a good enough game that actually had a lot of untapped potential. I wouldn't be expecting Killzone 2 to revolutionize gaming and be the best shooter in years, but it will probably be a good game.

Was the second one done on a next-gen console? Yeah, I didn't think so either.

*sigh*

the developer clearly has no talent, just money, so they can make it look pretty, but it will be dull.

Hines, the developer is basically completely unproven at this point. Killzone was a decent game, not great, but new developers rarely get something right the first time. Plus, it made Killzone: Liberation (I forgot about that one before) which was a pretty good game. Like I said, I wouldn't expect Killkzone 2 to be a phenomenal game, but it probably won't be a complete and utter failure, especially considering its budget. Sure a budget doesn't make a game, but it can't hurt to have a lot of money to use.

Wow, I'm really contradicting myself today aren't I.

oh yea, killzone liberation was supposed to be cool, but idk if it was made by the same guys

It is. Its made by Guerrilla games (thank you wikipedia), like Killzone was.

EDIT: Here's Guerilla's wiki thingy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerilla_Games

It's like they're saying, "Hey, look at the massive irony in the title!"

Anything new bout the PS3 anyone wants to talk about? I personally am thinking about getting one as a gift to myself for the Summer. We all have to splurge once in a while. :D

Well, we actually have a lot coming this summer for the PS3. I'm really psyched about Lair, Heavenly Sword, and even Warhawk (I used to love playing Battlefield 1942). Then, we'll probably end up getting Ratchet and Clank this September.

The PS3 is starting to look like a good enough buy to me Strubes (provided you have the money, which I don't lol), especially with big games coming. That being said, a price cut can't be that far off so you may want to hold out for that...

I'm going to bed. *insert yawn smilie*

Hmmm...I don't really think Sony can afford a price cut. They're already losing tons of money as it is. I have more than enough money. I wanna get one especially for FFXIII and MGS4. Ratchet and Clank will be amazing too.

Well, if anyone is cutting prices, even if it means they'll still be losing money, they'll be the ones to do it and it may be a bit off, but it will come.

Anyways, since you just managed to sell your Wii for $500, I would go get the PS3. Tell us all how it is when you get it.

I definitely will! I had my doubts, but you never really know about something until you actually sit down and spend some quality time with it. I've only played the PS3 a few times when my friend brought it over, but the backward compatibility and sticking with PS2 style controllers was the big selling point for me.
