Gogo (Crazy chick who was swinging the spike & chain weapon?) from Kill Bill Vol. 1 is doing the Resident Evil 5 commercial in Japan!

Re: Resident Evil 5 General Discussion

I was excited for this, especially knowing the spoilers and the co-op...but this is now at the back of my "to get" list after playing the demo several times. :-\

well is kinda obvious that a demo gets boring after playing it several times.....

Re: Resident Evil 5 General Discussion

I loved RE4, not because you had to always go running after the President's daughter, but because you were pretty much alone the whole game. You had to take care of the enemies alone, and you felt pressure in doing that. In this one, a friend and I KNIFED our way through the entire demo, twice. Nothing really jumped out at me, and we were both very underwhelmed. We tried the demo several times, thinking of new ways to play, but there wasn't a way that made it fun for us. Though co-op is good because you can enjoy it with a friend, I just think it's unnecessary in an RE game. RE used to mean something to me..but now I'm just praying this isn't the direction they take the series in.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. I too am worried that the series is becoming more of a straight up 3d shooter rather than survival horror. RE4 was a good balance of the 2, because it still had that classic RE feel, while also being completely fresh. I'll reserve further judgment until I actually play the game, but I am going into it with a very critical approach.

but it's just optional to play in co-op isn't it? you can play it on single player if you want.

i guess i understand that sometimes demos can be a little disappointing because sometimes they lack certain elements, maybe the final product will have different situations than what the demo has.

I've played it single player as well. You still don't feel like you're playing alone though since your partner actually does something besides run and hide. This is just my opinion though.

Re: Resident Evil 5 General Discussion

I think that there should definitely be an option to play through the game solo... probably not going to happen because they are focusing on the co-op aspect. But I don't like having to watch out for two people, that is SO NOT RESIDENT EVIL.

These new screenshots show off members of the West African branch of US Government outfit Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA)

Which reminds us of Carlos team from RE3, doesn't it?
