@Dray - Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I guess I didn't catch this in time. I'm already after the part where Zelos betrayed me.

I was addicted when I first started playing. I think I put put near 24 hours in within the first 30 hours, maybe the first 36 hours.

Anyway, could only play as Lloyd in battles, but I spent a couple hours playing with strategies and oddly enough the end of the game was really easy for me. Still, great game. Wish I actually owned it instead of borrowed. I think I beat it in little over 45 hours or something.

Fun to start out the second time with over half a million in gald :)

I started playing it in Hard mode recently.  Believe me it's a "pain in the you know where" to start out, as the basic stuff can kill you in a matter of hits.

If any of you also have a PS2, be sure to check out Tales of the Abyss, which is the newest Tales game. It just came out this week, and it's fantastic. It was made by the same team that did Tales of Symphonia.

I tried posting about Abyss on the PS2 boards, but most PS2 owners are also Final Fantasy fanboys, so they all think the Tales series' is lame. It's nice to see that some people can appreciate Tales games though. :)
 
Tales of Symphonia Help

I've been playing the game Tales of Symphonia a while, but I'm having some trouble getting this one event to activate. I'm at the geiser place, the one by the Water Temple. I already beat that, but I can't seem to get the Spiritua Statue. I can't get Genis to freeze the water. I've spent hours wandering around the place trying to get him to freeze the water so I can get the Statue. What am I doing wrong here? I can't continue until I get the Statue.

hmmm that's weird, is he in your party? how far are you into the actual story?

I think you have to do it later in the game, but I don't really remember. It's been a while since I've played Symphonia. Check out gamefaqs. They have decent walkthroughs.

You wont freeze the water yet, after going to the temple the first time you must go back to the house of salvation and get the statue and then go to Hakonesia Peak. You could have gotten the statue before going to the water place though. and if you are three hours in the game you must have been rushing cause I am on my second playthrough and am at 5 hours and just beat the Palmacosta Ranch.

I cant believe that on my replay of the game we forgot to talk to the people at the house of salvation so the event didnt trigger.

You have to go into that House of Salvation and talk to that priest, and you would have also have had to spoke to the Old Geezer at Hakonesia Peak!

It sounds more like you read an FAQ, and just went straighht to the statue. Make sure you've talked to both the guys at the House of Salvation, as well as the guy at Hakonesia Peak.

And Sartori, many of us think the game is awesome. I'm going through my fifth playthrough (finally on a harder difficulty, and it's tough). That, and me and my friends enjoy brawling in it as well. Only think i don't like about the game is the lack of an 8-way run for battles (it sticks you on a 2D plane with your enemy), yet your partners can run in every which way.

I've only worked with a couple main teams:

Lloyd, Genis, Raine, Zelos / Kratos

or

Lloyd, Genis, Raine, Presea

Prism Stars U-Attack FTW.

Yeah Mai got a PS2 at the end of the console cycle, would you say Abyss is better or worse than Symphonia?

I love the name of the place Hakonesia

On this playthrough I have focused more on playing as Sheena, boy is it hard, I cant tell you how many times I have died.
