Surprise! There is a SHOOTER built into the game!

Just when you think TvC: Ultimate All-Stars is out of surprises, you get this ^^^!

TvC: Ultimate All-Stars is basically the uber-version of the Japan-only Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Cross-Generation of Heroes. It adds more characters, tunes the balance, and gives the whole glorious package worldwide online versus play.

Niitsuma and the team also went back to the drawing board on the collection of zany mini-games from the original, and have transformed one of the best of the bunch into a robust game worthy of a download unto itself.

TvC: Ultimate All-Shooters is a 2D shoot-em-up in the style of past Capcom classics as "Legendary Wings" and "Commando." It takes place on the snow-covered wastelands of Lost Planet, and pits you against hordes of hungry Akrid bugs.

It has four unique playable characters: Ryu and the PTX-40A from the Capcom side, and Ken the Eagle and Tekkaman from the Tatsunoko side. All of the characters move in their own way, and have character-specific regular and special attacks (shinku-hadoken anyone?). It has mini-bosses, bosses, and MEGA bosses, different paths to take through the game, and you can play up to 4-player coop!

The best part? This game is built into Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars already. Any fans of OG Capcom shooters needs to check this one out.

Oh wow, I might just get a Wii for this. :P In seattle, they had this game in the arcade. I beat it as Ryu and that Bird superhero guy. It was crazy!

Awesome! Though, I've heard there's only 4 buttons instead of 6 for the fighters. Is this true, Mega?

Yes, which is what MVC2 had basically. Yet it won't hinder the fun, it is a unique learning curve I will admit.

it has a lot of other stuff to replace the 2 missing buttons.

Really? Like what, if I may ask. All I've heard is the stuff from the videos. People being underwhelmed by the lack of depth. But they were playing the Japanese version and couldn't read anything, so I'm sure there's a ton of strategy in there.

I still really wanna pick this up.

Really? i actually haven't seen that sort of complaint... just because it has less buttons doesn't make it less "deep" (actually most of the fighting games i play have only 2 or 3 buttons but i wouldn't call them shallow so maybe i am wrong?)

there's different techniques that you can pull off like mega crash, baroque combos and the like. True it is not as deep as SFIV but from what i played is like......easy to pick up and play but it takes a while to master when and where to do everything.

It's super easy to pick up, one training session, and you're ready to go :) MVC2 fans will recognize the super system is pretty much the same.
