The End of Fanboyism Thread

Ok, It has come to my knowledge, as I'm well aware that you all know also, how bad this PS3 vs 360 vs Wii debate is getting. It's too bad that the mods have to work overtime and such to try and detour such posts. So, in light of all of this, I'm asking you all to lay down you pride for a little bit and say one nice thing, or a couple nice things about each of the 3 next gen systems. Come on guys, it's really not that hard, and shouldn't spark any controversy. I'll start..

Wii - Brawl and Mario Galaxies look like amazing games. The Wiimote has endless capabilities that I'm hoping to see put to good use in the future. :)

360 - Amazing online play and an awesome holiday line-up, including Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, and Mass Effect...oh and Halo 3. :)

PS3 - Sony impressed me with E3, showing off some impressive games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2. :)

Talk about a downer. It's really not that hard to say something nice about each console. If that happens, then I don't really see how I'm asking for trouble.

Personally I never understood why someone would fiercely attack other consoles and almost worship one. I guess it stems from the days of "Sega sucks." I'd ask why, and all I'd get was a jaded look.

I like Strubes' idea. Show me one good thing about each console. I personally don't know because I haven't had the time to play any of them yet. Besides, it would be sad if people were temp banned because the "Wii/PS3/360 sucks" rants got seriously out of hand...

Pros:

Wii - Brawl

PS3 - Lair

360 - Halo 3

I know Lair looks kind of out of place in the company of Brawl and Halo 3, but I definitely think it will be a major contender in terms of it's fun factor. It's made by Factor 5, the team that made the Rogue Squadron series, easily one of my most beloved videogame series of all time, and substituting X-wings for Dragons seems like a great idea to me. Also, it's not a sequel, and although it will borrow from the previous flying games Factor 5 has made, I'm sure it will feel like an incredibly new and fresh experience.

Wow, I would have modded half this thread already if I could. What's with the negativity? Is it really so hard to think of nice things for each system? :-\

Wii - Great system for playing multiplayer games with people actually in the room (in other words, a great party system) with great games already out and great games coming out. SSBB, SMG, FE:GoD, MK, and who else knows what has yet to be named. :)

XBOX 360 - 360 is host to many great games, including Gears of War and Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Plus it looks like the console of choice for any serious next-gen jrpg fan, with games like Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Lost Odyssey on the way.

PS3 - Heavenly Sword looks amazing, all comparisons to God of War aside. Killzone also looks great.

i agree, strubes

although i have ragged on ps3 in the past, i would not mind having one. it has a cool selection of upcoming exclusives

anything that can be played on 360, i will, cause my gamerscore NEEDS to go up

I see not one person who said Metroid Prime 3, which is said to be the greatest FPS ever.

That's how flame wars get started. Words like greatest. See, I would argue that there is no way MP3 is better than Halo 3. Anyways, something good about each console

Wii- Useful as a bookend. Brawl, I guess.
PS3- Lair, Killzone 2
360- Halo 3, Mass Effect

I'm pretty sure 'which is said' helps, if you'd bother to read. Cause saying the Wii is good as a bookend isn't fanboy at all.

Its not fanboy, cuz thats about what mine is right now too... he's just upset about the lack of decent games for it. Im just patiently waiting for something good to come out. I might try MP# though since the wii controls will probably be smooth cuz i didnt like the controls on the cube...

But if I said the PS3 was a paperweight, at least one person would attack me for it, but agree with you about the Wii.

I know... the ps3 and wii are about even in my eyes, but I would give the nod to the ps3 just because i am more interested in those games... but the wii being only $250 really helps and is the best party system and its still new...

I can see that, but maybe it was just the games you were playing? I like them personally and they can only get better...

How do you not like moving? Super Monkey Ball tilt>joy stick anyways. Third parties just didn't try with their Wii games, they admitted it.
