I can't wait for teh nostalgia.

The rest of the conference though...eh. The XBL update isn't all that big of a deal, and the only big new game they showed for hardcore gamers was FFXIII. Seeing Fallout 3 in action was awesome, but I wanted to see new games, not what I already knew.

Yeah, but I played that part back a few times, it's not Co-Op mode...  It's a new mode called "Horde" where "up to 5 players can take on wave after wave of increasingly difficult Locust."


Actually, I just played back the beginning a few times too.. and he said "i'm about to demonstrate a section from the 2-player cooperate campaign"

Well, if assorted rumors are true, they've lost FFXIII exclusivity(not a rumor), and they have no Kingdom Hearts. Which is a big blow, because Square games are a major factor for them.
 
Sony and Nintendo needs to have some killer titles if they're gonna compete with what's happenin with Microsoft this year.

If Nintendo's gonna deliver on what they say they will, they're gonna have a massive first party showing. Plus, I wanna hear more about the kinda, sorta Brawl sequel, and if there's gonna be DLC for any games out now.

Oh, for sure, they need a ton more than what's probably gonna happen. Seems like the only big new title would be God of War 3, and while it may be amazing to watch, it just can't match the 360(Banjo 1 and 3, FFXIII, Rock Band 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Gears 2) now. Sony's really alienated its third party support with a combination of not-so-smart statements("stop making turn based games, Square!") and a hard-to-develop console.

Yea, they can't compare since half of what you said is on BOTH consoles.

i think it depends from the point of view.... like someone who owns a ps3 thinks the 360 has almost nothing and vice-versa

The 360 is the cheaper system. I think he's just pointing out that Sony needs something that's for and only for the PS3 that will make people want it.

Of course, I'm only interested in PC titles at this point, since like 90% of the games on the 360 and PS3 are also on the PC.
 
Fallout 3 looks absolutely GODLY judging by the preview I just saw on G4.

And honestly, I don't see the 360's advantage being that great. In their keynote, Microsoft mentioned only three big exclusives: Fable 2, Gears 2, and Banjo Kazooie: Nuts 'n Bolts. Microsoft won't win the holiday season with three big exclusives, especially considering Banjo Kazooie never got above 1 or 2 million sold when the series was at its peak. Sony just has to slate Killzone or Resistance 2 for the holiday season, along with maybe one other big title (probably not God of War 3. I can't see that game hitting store shelves this year) and they have pretty much matched the 360.
